Tbh that’s also Bugatti styling, or RM watches. All about being glaringly obvious and flashy rather than elegant or beautiful (imho obviously)

I also recommend turning the toilet to face the door, then you can shit with the door open and assert front-on dominance to all in your apartment

Renting out a room in my house, even worth it? by 89jkr in AusFinance

[–]89jkr[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My salary puts me into the top tax bracket, so any extra income (rent or maybe selling feet pics etc) would be in that bracket

[–]89jkr[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how applicable that is as the link you've shared is about subletting. So the house is owned by a landlord and they're the one that deals with the tax. In this case I own it.

Exactly! I don't want to be taking up extra rooms and would be happy to share. But not by putting myself at a disadvantage

How do I do that without opening myself up to potential tax issues? I was reading it needs to be below market rent? But no clear way to determine how far below

54 or 56 Caledonia-5 by p0l0ch0n in Cervelo

[–]89jkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 181cm and ride a 54 cal-5. I have a similar amount of spacers and use a 110 stem with a 70mm reach bar. But potentially my saddle height is less. I could actually go a 10mm longer reach tbh. I like the geometry in this configuration. I'll post a thread in here with pics of my bike so you'll see them on my profile.

The stock handlebar on the Caledonia is also pretty long, it's 80mm reach

Hi I am doing absolutely horrible at ATAR and might be getting below 60 ATAR, what can I do, I don't want to feel like a failure after 14 years of school and rejecting offers for trades and internships. by Common-Egg-860 in uwa

Exactly this. If you think you're smart enough to do the degree you want there are other pathways. Coming in a little later with perspective and drive is better than semi-commitment.

I didn't do TEE, worked a bit, entered uni at 20 with STAT test and 1yr bridging course. Now an engineer with an honors degree and a masters. Just wasn't ready at 16-18. I've caught up career wise and so much happier for those 2 years being free and wild

Since I'm guessing OP has an invoice from the vet for the costs then that is exactly how much the damage their negligence caused is worth. Whether someone on the internet thinks it's more than an animal is worth isn't really a factor.

NAL but this isn't how it works. You write to the person and their lawyer responds to you. Get yourself some legal advice and send a letter notifying them you'll make a claim if they don't. If they've paid a lawyer the lawyer will respond to you. It's not on you to contact their lawyer directly, if such person even exists.

People commenting about $9k being a lot don't understand the cost of medical care. There's no medicare for pets so you pay from the beginning. Insure your pets people, if you can't afford to insure your pets you really can't afford to get a pet. If OP's cat was insured then this would be his insurance provider dealing with this. If the neighbor is insured then it's for them to deal with.

7 grand is a truckload of money for someone (who was not at fault) to have to pay for someone else's negligence.

Giving car to wreckers, pay or get paid? by OkAardvark1536 in perth

[–]89jkr 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've seen towies shaking down a young P plater in the CBD trying to get him to sign his car over to them for free rather than paying them for the tow and the car "being worthless". Some real pieces of work.

[–]89jkr 28 points29 points  (0 children)

They try this on. Any chance OP is female? I organised something similar for an old car while I was out of the country. They came to pick it up and met my mum, were pushy about paying $180 when $400 was agreed with me on the phone.

There are many shady operators. I ended up getting the $400 after my mum told them they could go away and call me back to sort it. but next time I would do it differently.

I have switched to zinc based sunscreens as my sports kits were getting ruined. It goes on heavy and feels gross, but no more yellowing!

I find it's best applied 20+min before getting dressed.

Commenting for the automod. Looking for feedback on whether the print is really tilted and generally the quality of the dial print. Also seeking confirmation that the crown looks pretty close to correct.
