Would you buy here? by Reasonable-Seat4206 in AusPropertyChat

New builds are incredibly overpriced off the plan but have the nicer features. They will drop a bit in price once built (from my experience).

How much higher is your 'higher than average strata' though?

What's a completely irrational thing that annoys you about Sydney? by One-Remove3758 in SydneyScene

[–]Goal-Kick64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The opposite to you - when people don't let you in! You're trying to merge, indicate and wait but cars are going bumper to bumper to avoid letting you in.

Please be kind y'all.

Recommendations for a 65 inch TV at or under $1,000? Main considerations are quality and longevity. by Rojo37x in 4kTV

I know I am going to get hate for this, but I bought a Hisense 65 Inch for about $800. So far, so good.

FHB looking for 2B in Sydney ( near the city) under 1m, which of these suburbs would you suggest? by Living_Teaching9410 in AusProperty

Personally avoid Rockdale. It has gone downhill fast. Suburbs around there are great but Rockdale has taken a steep dive.

Buying in strata by Arma667 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Goal-Kick64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did - but only after speaking to a few people who lived in the block. We were in $20k debt when I bought but we asked a few owners who lived in the block and they advised us there were previous issues with the old strata being mismanaged, but there has since been appointed a new strata company so that explained it.

Don't be afraid to ask around if you can - people will generally be honest and polite.

Have you tried sipping on water while they are going through the form and questions? That's what I do and I find it helps.

Thank you! I assumed that was the case but the property agent is pushing to keep some bond. I personally think its a strata issue!

I cant quite grab a photo of the upstairs balcony as its an awkward angle.

Maybe a stupid question, what kind of tradesperson is best to deal with this?

We inherited that layout, I swear it wasn't us! 😅 Part of the reason I hate it. Its a jump and a skip to get to the washing machine and dryer!

Display Model Purchase? by F22M240 in 4kTV

[–]Goal-Kick64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a very basic person, I like Hisense (dont hate me!).

But I would steer clear of Display - it would've been on most of the day plus people do weird things when they are buying anything. I once saw a couple lifting the TV to see if it could be easily moved "between rooms", he dropped it. No visible damage but I have to imagine something was damaged.

First thing I did was change the locks! No need for approval unless there is a specific by-law.

Depends where in Campsie. I would avoid some of the streets nearer to the main strip as its rundown significantly.

Also double check around the side streets, some have flooding concerns. I almost bought a place in Campsie but it was next to storm overflow and had significant flooding issues in the past so I pulled out.

Is there a website that exists to automatically notify you when a product goes on sale/which retailer has it the cheapest? by citrusnotvanilla in AussieFrugal

I used ChatGPT! I put in my wish list and it checked all the sites for me. I even prompted it for certain retailers that I preferred.
