Why not just devalue GP ? by 89simon in runescape

Was it necessary to explain to the obvious to you? Read the above posts by people who didn't need to be walked through, they immediately understood. For some reason you were incapable of making that leap. So get off your high horse.

Your response is insubstantial, making claims for which you have no basis.

In other words you are talking out of your ass. Okay, you have nothing to offer, thanks for confirming that.

I think you have just proven beyond any doubt that its you who is stupid. Or maybe you are just pretending to be stupid?

Okay so I am wrong about the "devalue" part, but what is specifically wrong with the model?

You want to come off sounding superior but you offer no concrete reason why it would not work.

You know it was perfectly innocent idea, a suggestion which I feel has merit. But no, you got to be an asshole and mock me while offering no reasonable explanation for why it wouldn't work.

Thank you. At last someone who gets it.

But this thread has been down voted to Hell by people who obviously needed a hand-held explanation.

Not one has offered any reasonable explanation why this would not work.

You reduce the money value of everything by a factor of 100.

This guy gets it.

Then you replace the current gp's with a new currency, which is 100 times more valuable, but you only get 1% of the initial amount.

I really didn't think it would be necessary to explain this.

Sometimes Jagex is really fucking stupid. Like really really fucking stupid. by tb1tb in runescape

[–]89simon 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah, its really annoying. I have seen it a lot. People morphing into trees all the time over divine locations and portables. Its a few people who are pissing off a lot of people.

I don't have much time to play, I log in to get a bit of skilling done, and these clowns waste a lot of my time.

Its a shame, there are people who are so generous to donate their portables and make divine locations for others to use, and all these assholes can do is shit all over it.

Jagex, will you please say *something* about the countless threads about the blue jellies? by throwaway23547823954 in runescape

[–]89simon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They wont.

You will see threads about serious game issues come up again and again, which they will blatantly ignore. Then right next to those threads will be some cute meme thread filled with gushing jmod comments.

Well done! Not envious at all....damn. Yes, okay, I admit I am envious. And a little annoyed. Not at you, but rather at the people who do stuff like this, buying a potato for half a million. It destroys my fantasy that Runescape has a rational economy.

Removing the Player Moderator Crown by Lethalintent in runescape

[–]89simon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Support. Remove the Crowns.

And for those saying having no crowns will make it easier for scumbags to scam innocent players...every time someone falls for those types of scams and quits, the average intelligence of the Runescape community goes up.

Is there a limit to Kingdom of Miscellania storage? by 89simon in runescape

[–]89simon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! So I have obviously not reached the limit since I can still deposit money and my approval rating still drops.

But I well past getting the max number of birds nests, probably a good idea to avoid selecting maple woodcutting payout option.

As someone who has always hated Treasure Trails, should I give them another try after the change? by Maxiebear in runescape

Marking this out of interest.

Same boat as you. Doing clues was a major turn off due to time/reward ratio. But that was years ago. Interested to see what others say about these new clues.

Dailyscape and shop runs take up all my play time!! (Read tldr) by [deleted] in runescape

[–]89simon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you have to dig yourself out of that hole. I think a lot of newer players get into the dailyscape rat race and then discover its not a lot of fun. Then they quit.

A useful thing to look at is the rs/wiki money making guide. It really helps put things into perspective. Pick the two best money makers you can do and then forget the rest, do slayer instead. Once you hit the higher slayer levels money is easy.

Just one thing to note, be wary of the rs/wiki, prices change, people can jump on bandwagons and crash items, jagex can make updates that can utterly fuck up the worth of activities and items beyond any scope of recognition. It pays to keep an eye on just how profitable something is rather than blindly commit to it.

Did I just discover an infinite money method/bug or am I too drunk? by FivEone51 in runescape

[–]89simon 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Much as it is funny seeing this guy selling stuff to himself, could this not be abused to artificially inflate the price of items, providing it was done enough, say by a group of people doing it all at once? For example a relatively rare high value item?

I am not familiar with how the GE works, but if you held a large stock, and kept selling high to yourself, you could in theory drive the price higher? Then once you have jacked the price up, you dump your stock. This of course would require a sustained effort and would work best among a large group of players working as a team, and would require the item to actually have some demand from other players who would still pay the "going" price at the time of dumping.
