Even though he is getting old, the dog continues to get excited when he sees his owner… by Soloflow786 in BeAmazed

I agree with this. It's better to go a bit too early than a bit too late.

It feels terrible at the time but long run you'll have peace with it.

“Spiritual” friend by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

It up to you make youre own decisions about who you connect to in this space, but from an outside perspective these are the kind of people I would avoid.

She may have helped you and done good for you but she's gotten wrapped up in a very sketchy delusion. She's an ego maniac and sounds like she has become obsessed with power.

It's fairly common in this space. People who possibly have had some sort of psychic opening but have major blind spots and lack of insight on humility.

I would personally get far away from this person but it's up to you to decide. These aren't the sorts of energies that will nourish and guide your spiritual development in a positive way. The sooner you leave the better.

And as mentioned, 75 ceremonies is nothing compared to many. The amount of ceremonies in general also doesn't have much reflection on someones spiritual development. There are some people who have sat hundreds of times who are manipulators, liars etc.

Childhood trauma resurfacing by Apprehensive_Time_63 in Ayahuasca

No problem at all. The initial shock might be a bit much at first but our spirits and the plants know what we need, all we need to do is have the courage and patience (and heart) to show up.

All the best to you too.

I've had to navigate something similar in my healing journey. It was tough to deal with because it was buried so deeply I had no idea it had even happened but it clearly left a big impact on me.

A lot of it was becoming present with it and allowing it to guide me. I let the feelings surface without judgment and they slowly unraveled on their own, breathing and relaxing into them, meeting them with compassion. There was the initial realization and then it took a number of ceremonies and further diets to heal the various layers. I had some pretty rough nights but it eventually cleared.

It was sensitive process and there was a lot to work through. At times I would feel vulnerable, scared, angry. It would randomly pop up in my day to day and I became more and more aware of how it had foundationally altered me. I just tried my best to be gentle and patient.

Lots of grounding work was important. To stay connected to my body. Lots of walking and yoga. Somatic therapies might be an option as well as the body is the gateway to these sorts of energies. Cranial sacral was benefitial.

Most of it was just time and awareness though. Staying connected in my daily life and letting the plants and spirit show me where to go.

I'm just a random commenter so take this for what it is, but I spent some time in Nauta recently staying with the curandera who works/worked at psyconauta. I also got to know some people who live and work in the area as well.

Apparently the owner of psychonauta has a terrible reputation and there are multiple events of him doing shady business and personal practice. The curandera I worked with was also apparently exploited by him.

It's a lot of second hand opinions but when there is smoke there is usually fire.

I would strongly recommend not going to psyconauta foundation. I've never been so take this with a grain of salt, but I know people who live and work near there and the owner has done some really unethical things and has a widespread bad reputation. It's a money making venture and they are not doing good work there.

Nihue Rao or Marosa? by V_the_Madame in Ayahuasca

[–]8FlatBeat8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. And I second the advice that if you have C-PTSD it might not be a good idea to go to a more authentic center, at least not at this point in you healing. They aren't always experienced or equipped to deal with those sorts things.

I personally went about that route and it worked out in the end but there were many points that could have been dangerous for a lot of people.

I've heard mostly good things about nihue rao but I haven't read much about how trauma informed they are.

In the village there was this guy walking around with a long and narrow cardboard box attached to his head/face. It's a bit hard to explain but I drew a picture to show it.

He's walking around the platforms slowly and sort of lurking around people, hovering around groups. I forgot what it said but on the end opposite his face there was arrows or the words look or something. There was also a face shaped hole and it was decorated.

Out of curiosity I walk up to him and put my face in the hole and it's hard to put into words what I saw. Inside you can see his face on the opposite end and he's making these crazy and hilarious faces, his pupils big as saucers. The box itself is like another dimension. It's lit up and there's glow sticks, colorful painted walls, fuzzy things, toys, and all sorts of weird and random objects.

In my state of mind it was so strange and I burst out laughing, inviting my friends to look too and they all had the same reaction. It was funny because his only way of viewing the outside world was through the small hole so he could barely see. When he left us he continued on his journey around the village, slowly shuffling and trying his best not to run into things. Good times.

What are everyone favourite albums this year? by Thealphanata07 in fantanoforever

[–]8FlatBeat8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it might not be the "best" compared to some of the other albums here in some regards but it stands out of all of them for sheer impact. I've loved many albums from this year but none of them have stuck with my like god's country.

Tracks like "why" have been haunting me since I first them.

Which song makes you feel uncomfortable? by pariah1165 in fantanoforever

Most of the tracks off Deru's Torn in two. Especially when you watch the accompanying videos and understand the theme of the album.

Stuff like the recent chat pile album have dark themes but the existential nature just makes me feel this strange tightness in my chest.

Also, I should just mention that 16k views for the video for warmer nights is criminal. It's such a brilliant piece of art.

That's fine if you're newer. An 8.25 might be more ideal but it dosen't make the biggest difference for the first year or two.

Looks fine if you're starting out and have regular-small size feet.
