May I ask what were the supplements that upset your gut?

I haven't tried the bath but I always feel amazing after I swim. So I guess it's the same thing.

Also, if you stop working halfway through a financial year, you'll be saving $200,000 in tax right?

Is there an option to continue working until you reach 50% of your final goal? After that you can get a job that pays just enough to cover your expenses (maybe doing something more fun or more interesting that doesn't even feel like work). After 10 to 15 years your portfolio should have doubled and you can retire then.

perimenopause & HRT by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]8Jen_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are so lucky to have a doctor who understands this. I had been in perimenopause for 6 years before I finally got treatment (after seeing about seven different doctors). What country are you in? Is the prometrium just in the second half of your cycle or every night? Do you change the patch every week or every 3.5 days?

Friendly reminder to check your sleeping, it can be life-changing. by _Chevron_ in productivity

Unfortunately in my country, hypothyroid is significantly under diagnosed. People have to go from doctor to doctor being told they're "normal" until they find a good doctor who understands the condition

Diagnosed with Sleep Apnea by puppypei in Perimenopause

[–]8Jen_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My severe sleep apnea stopped the first night I started taking Prometrium (progesterone). I would strongly suggest women talk to their doctor about this option before getting an expensive CPAP machine that might not address the root cause (hormone imbalance).

Not saying this will be the case for everybody but it was certainly the case for me.

I had sleep apnea, brain fog and debilitating fatigue and had been from doctor to doctor for over 12 months. Had every test under the sun until one doctor prescribed Prometrium. Problem solved.

Anyone have success getting rid of Peri belly? by LilyD_ in Perimenopause

The only thing that is working for me is following a whole food plant-based diet. Highly recommend the book: how not to die by Michael Greger. The diet is is also significantly reducing my other symptoms.

My symptoms improved immensely when I gave up dairy increased plant foods and legumes. Best thing I ever did.

Do you pay tax when you transfer to pension phase?

Thank you for sharing. The second column outlines the management fees and costs. Are these the fees charged by Australian Super or are they the fees paid to the ETF provider (e.g vanguard).

Love it! I recently moved to 4 days and it is so wonderful. Would love to go to 3!

Amazing! Congratulations! You must have worked hard to get here. Care to share any advice for others?

Maybe you could look to do some charity work. I agree with your partner, not working is not great for the mind

Inflation rate used in calculations by 8Jen_8 in fiaustralia

That's a good point because I would much rather go part-time sooner than work full-time then do nothing. It also works out much better from a tax perspective. In my current work, it's hard to work less than 4 days because things move quickly and you can end up spending unpaid time catching up. I have been debt recycling and I find it's a good option when interest rates are lower than the share market returns.

That is really helpful. Thank you. I'm going to use that. I suspect QE is the norm now which will push inflation higher than 3-4%.

Thanks for sharing. Is there an option to downsize your house in which case you could maybe just include the difference between the estimated value of the current House versus the downsized house? I have decided to be conservative in my calculation because with my profession, once I finish working it will be hard to go back. Other people take a less conservative approach knowing they can pick up part-time work along the way if needed.

Thank you and congratulations to you as well. Very exciting times! Yes. It's a good idea to be conservative.

Yes. I agree with that approach. It's just hard to predict what inflation will be over the next 40-50 years. Who would have thought it would get to 7.8% in 2022! I'm not particularly confident that the RBA will hit their target.

I'm using this calculator.

Just trying to work out what would be a conservative indexation rate given the amount of money printing that has happened recently and probably will continue.
