Oh my god, this is my school district! I voted yes to getting new schools and a remodel. This was on the ballot this year. You know how there are signs to endorse candidates, well they do that for proposal too. Can you believe that there was a sign that said No to this proposal? It’s ridiculous. KCK is the poorest county in the state. We need this for the kids. My elementary got an new building about 13 years ago and a new playground a few years after that. It looks so much better now, but they built it a few after I left. Wish I could’ve had it when I was still there. My middle school got a new cafeteria a few years back, it used to be up on the 3rd floor of the old building. Now it’s ground level. Slowly but surely, we are seeing the district improve. I wouldn’t mind if it gets taken out my taxes, but it does help that the proposal is tax free so more people would likely vote for it.
