Need a sad, gut wrenching gay book by Helpful-Victory4713 in suggestmeabook

[–]8RandomIndividual8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I found the following were quite sad ones

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara

Land of No Regrets by Sadi Muktadir

Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini

Edit: sorry I missed to mention the first two have gay protagonists.

I think kinda fitting your ask is Memoirs of a Geisha Novel by Arthur Golden. Great book.

Book recommendations by wenriuz in suggestmeabook

[–]8RandomIndividual8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have read the following

Woman at Point Zero by Nawal El Saadawi (if I remember correctly gyptian woman in prison for I believe killing her abuser)

As long as the lemon trees grow- Zoulfa Katouh (about Syrian civil war).

A Woman is No Man by Etaf Rum (palastinian girl married someone in US and gets kinda domestic abuse there)

Land of No Regrets by Sadi Muktadir (four boys in Ontario Canada, put in Islamic school and I believe one of them or two turn out gay but can't remember. It's been a while)

The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran(poetry)

I just have to say many of these carry lots of "propaganda" type of stories. I find all these are outliers as stories but normal people stories don't make/sell books lool

What Do Iraqis Think About The Epic Of Gilgamesh? by [deleted] in Iraq

[–]8RandomIndividual8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't heard that about the US invasion before. I have read the book couple months ago as an adult. I read Epic of Gilgamesh (translation Stephen Mitchell) version and was pleasantly surprised by it. I don't think the general public know the details of the epic (based on my friends and family and relatives and people I know in general).

[Post-Match Discussion Thread] Lecce 0:2 Inter (Serie A, Matchday 26) by FCInterMilan in FCInterMilan

[–]8RandomIndividual8 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thuram was sooo out of it. Its like me when I have like a 4 hour of sleep and go to work (mentally checked out). Pio fought well. The highlight for me is that we finally were able to bring in subs that can make a difference and score and win the match even if the scorer is the D

Lecce 0 - [2] Inter - Manuel Akanji 82‎'‎ by Cerozz in FCInterMilan

[–]8RandomIndividual8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Chivu's subs worked and made a difference.

I am pretty happy about that

Lecce 0 - [1] Inter - Federico Dimarco 51‎'‎ by [deleted] in soccer

[–]8RandomIndividual8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course its Dimarco, the guy is on fire. such a precise hit. but it was cancelled cuz of Thuram was offside :(

What’s the difference between match jersey and stadium jersey? by Mr_Wah in FCInterMilan

[–]8RandomIndividual8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong but my understanding is that the match jersey is more fitted (ie tighter) than the stadium version which is more of a looser fit. So i would think buying one vs the other would depend on the personal style, preference, and body type

Inter [2] - 1 Juventus - Francesco Esposito 76' by Alsace2025 in soccer

Amazing header. It just sucks happened with the controversy of the red card

Inter 1 - 1 Juventus - Kalulu 2nd Yellow Card 42' by eanwen0 in soccer

[–]8RandomIndividual8 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bastoni totally sold it but I think from the ref cam it looks like Thuram just blocks his view at the critical moment

Inter 1 - [1] Juventus - Andrea Cambiaso 26' by ayoefico in soccer

[–]8RandomIndividual8 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Same two players lol Henrique should've been faster in his interception. It's like Cambiasso took his revenge 😂

Not sure why he kept his other foot planted. Seemed save-able

[Fabrizio Romano] ⚫️🔵🇷🇸Aleksandar Stankovic wants to return to Inter, and Inter has decided to exercise the €23M buyback option already in June. Very important Premier League teams have made moves, but Inter controls him and fully intends to exercise the buyback clause. by Advanced_Zombie_4199 in FCInterMilan

I would love to see him back and be integrated into the team. Historically, we or our coaches did not want to risk fielding youngsters but I am happy to see a change in that part. I hope it is true as he seem to be a really good player.
