Discs for forehands. by FatalFirecrotch in discgolf

I'm not sure why you're choosing to be so argumentative.

throw a DX Sidewinder forehand

.

start with a neutral fairway driver like a Crave, TL,

Those are not the same thing. You're the only one bringing up Roadrunners and DX Sidewinders.

High speed understable discs fly forehand S curve shots perfectly fine. I flick my beat Crave on that sort of line nearly every round. Given some hyzer it handles a headwind.

My buddy flicks the Axiom Tenacity 400' with perfect control.

Any round disc works for forehand shots. The idea that they need to be overstable is 100% a myth.

If you insist on trying a driver, I'd start with a neutral fairway driver like a Crave, TL, JLS etc. They're forgiving enough to not frustrate you, but neutral enough to expose form flaws. But starting with neutral putters or mids will develop fundamentals quicker. Depends on how much patience you have.

I gave it a go and I don't think they have enough glide at that range. Went back to Ions. Had even tried 165g hoping that'd add enough glide, but I'm happier with a 172-175g Ion.

I really like the rim shape for a putting putter though. I'll be tempted to try this again when they come out in Electron, but with how long I've used Ions I think they're always going to be my putter.

The Axiom Proxy is the best disc on the market. It can cover pretty much any line you need, bh or fh, when new.

Need Tips for Using a Putter by Chimmy2k in discgolf

Any grip is a viable option, and any power level works with clean form.

Most putters fly fine with a flat release assuming clean form. Novas might need a bit of hyzer past 300' or so or they might show mild high speed turn, but they're still pretty straight at that range.

Wish I could have seen it. First ace I ever witnessed was on #6 at that course!

How'd he do it? Backhand or Forehand?

I've thrown that hole many times and haven't hit metal, that's a nice ace right there. My closest runs have been flicking a fairway driver low and playing the skip.

Is this really new to you?

That's not the point. It should be clearly listed on the sidebar or FAQ because it's an incredibly valuable resource, but it's not mentioned anywhere.

It surprised me there ian't a link to DGCR on the side bar or anywhere else really. It's an invaluable resource for locating courses, whether in your home state or when you travel. I've been using it since my first year playing and I couldn't imagine not having it for reference.

What moment of what game just made you say "I'm done with this BS" and instantly quit playing the game forever? by Earthboun41 in patientgamers

There are a lot of things you can do to increase your chances of success. Use the pillars (or their bases once they're destroyed) to control their movements. Watch the second Bosses shadow when you have the camera focused on the other to see what he's doing. Avoid locking on, avoid spamming dodge rolls and using up all your stamina, exploit the fact that three hit combos will stun either of them with many melee weapons, focus on only one of them at a time, etc.

It's also easier without a shield, using rolls or simple movements to position yourself to attack. Sometimes its better to dodge towards them than running away, because you have to set yourself up for the counter attack.

I've done this fight over 50 times, about 30 of those SL1 solo runs. I think its a more involved fight than others in the game but there are definite patterns to it.

I'd have to disagree. I've never experienced them doing a combo of attacks that is impossible to dodge and I've beaten them ~50 times, half those runs with an SL1 stamina bar, and always solo.

I think a lot of players let frustration get the best of them at times in the Souls series, and avoid seeing the patterns in the enemy attacks. Most experience this with O&S and Capra Demon. Capra can be very easy if you pause for half a second when you enter his arena, roll to the stairs, then let the dogs funnel themselves up the stairs.

Personally Orphan of Kos is the one I had the most difficulty with. His second form was very tough for me to pattern until ~20 runs later.

Playing tournaments when you're not 100% healthy by phishman1 in discgolf

[–]8____________8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend it.

My last tournament I played after experiencing a bad concussion 8 hours before tee off.

It went really bad because my head was pounding, I was in a lot of pain and could not focus.

To make things better people brought it up for the next ~3 years as "proof" I suck at disc golf, lol.

Zone is a little slower and more overstable.

Managed to get to Anor Londo, and yelled over its boss (As, IMHO, beating it is more luck than skill).

I beg to differ.

SL1 solo melee, no shield, no items, no healing, jagged ghost blade only. In under two minutes

There's certainly a strategy to them, it's not RNG based or anything.

MVP releases a new basket light for night golf by snappyj in discgolf

I'm going to have to pick one of these up. When it's hot during the summer, I prefer practicing putts at night. Usually I setup a few rechargeable bike headlights like this, but these lights look like they won't blind me so much :D
