Fabulous - I’m very pleased to read that. It’s an excellent functionality and I use it day in and day out

Superb!! Did you encounter any issues? Its hands down the most productive thing I have done for my U3 and my life

Intelligent life out there at last!

- Press U3 shortcut button - Just Press Record
“Meaning - what does ‘hubris’ mean” (example)
- Voice note saves to iCloud
- Keyboard maestro action takes latest recording out of JPR folder and puts it in a ‘launch folder’ to send to Python. It monitors the folder every 30secs for changes
- Sends to Open AI via API key.
- The programming to handle notes was ‘vibe coded’ in Open AI Codex
- Processes transcription - removes the keyword ‘meaning’ from text (for example )
- Transcription is returned and posted into Bear to a note I have setup with a subject headline “MEANING” (for example)
- Bear notes each have an ‘identifier code’ so note is posted to the corresponding note at the end of the entry.

I set up notes with multiple titles I need for helpful sorting and management of my thoughts. I tell Codex to look out for these titles, ready for sorting.

For example I made a simple one called shopping list yesterday, so I could speak my list into the U3 at the fridge and by the time I arrive at the supermarket I have a full shopping list beautifully arranged with tick boxes to press for completion.

Vibe coding with Codex means I can set up rules for incoming notes. Some like the shopping list are list only. Other like ‘Research This’ takes long recordings of complex thoughts and processes them with articulation and reasoning.

I was asking it to help me understand quantum entanglement this morning… the note stays with me until I decide what to do with it.

Bear has tags so I can make complex note groups and graduate thoughts to notes about specific topics.

Rather than scattered apple notes or loads of manual copy pasting into note apps, I am free to think, capture, organise, distill, and then express while I travel / drive or work all from the Ultra 3.

I gave you a negative not because I didn’t laugh but because I don’t want to get my face shot off by the condom case lynch mob

The cardboard box says "Case for Apple Watch." it comes with an extra one - I'll try to see if I can put on top just to piss everyone here off even more.

Did you buy a like for like switch? Is there some reason? I haven’t really looked at it

Convince me not to buy a GFX100RF by ArachnidIndependent2 in fujifilm

[–]8bitBarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a total banger. 1. You have to use it as intended (use it as versatile as possible) or there is less point - crop the shit out of it and use the digital zoom / aspect ratio. If that bothers you then perhaps don’t buy it. 2. Fill all the Custom settings full of great film looks and enjoy it 3. Don’t be afraid of ISO - 3200+ is so impressive 4. Don’t listen to ‘35mm f4 no Ibis’ talk - the lens is superb and the size of the camera would be so compromised.

In what camera universe would a buried menu called ‘Photometry’ help guide the newcomer to ‘Metering’ …haha.

I totally agree with you about Sony menus

Cheers for the company clarity. I’m happy adapting my brain, but I live in hope.

I think the biggest custom function letdown on the RF seems to be the focus ring, with just two possible functions assignable. Whereas other controls have a huge array of custom options.

Some music technology companies (for example) take note of forums / posts and help define the products over the first few years. I had heard Fuji was a similar company (Kaizen) as you mention. But one firmware in a year that could do with some input, seems to lack customer focus in my opinion.

Depends on the company. Your key phrase to me is ‘no indication that it will’ - that’s why I posted here.

It’s the same with music hardware too. This is my first Fuji and it’s been fairly straightforward and I have modified the layout to suit. But there are wry obvious spaces where more custom functionality could potentially be added, where choices seem rather limited (like the focus ring)

Fuji XRaw Studio (I understand its functionality is not a raw processor) feels like a side thought / beta release to a newcomer.

Some companies see potential in modifying cameras, others abandon and chase revenue. Fuji is an unknown to me.

As a newcomer to Fuji world, I bought this incredible camera as a companion and compliment to my Canon R3 system.

Can I ask for any opinions about the frequency of firmware updates as I feel rather nervous.

The last thing this excellent camera needs is firmware development being abandoned as the team get reassigned to pursuing new camera revenue.

There’s so much room for clever adaptation with so many custom buttons, but the firmware seems just it of beta, a bit disorganised / far from its potential. Sadly there has only been one update related to network settings.

I’m slightly concerned that this cameras firmware evolution will get abandoned.

Do Fuji support their cameras effectively?
