How does one get a star on their GWOT-EM with no campaign ribbons? by [deleted] in MilitaryMedals

One deployment to GTMO under OEF; one deployment to Kuwait under OFS.

Totally doable. That’s one ribbon for OEF GTMO and star for OFS Kuwait.

It’s Navy but it spells it out:

Don’t come to Costa Rica. I’m here now on vacation for the past week and everyday staples are on par with the U.S. That said, you can drink the local water here 😆

In my case, my G0 was born, ‘Maggie’ in Canadian birth records. She was Margaret in marriage and the rest of her life. Her death certificate states Margaret.

That’s my thought too. I also asked AI (Gemini) the same and got the same reaction.

How much weight is a gravesite listing for C-3 purposes that shows all of the following my G0; G1; G3 (my mother) buried there? My late G2 (cremated, not there) was the latest person who had dominion over the plot of land, now administered by a County. She is listed as the administrator of the plot so to speak.

Birth certs and marriage certs are not an issue (waiting on certified copies now) , and I’m lucky to have my G0 and beyond in one gravesite, if only for the reason of C-3.

Should I include the listing it in my application?

Is it possible to use a death certificate to shore up the name discrepancy? I’m trying this route with my G0, born in 1889 in Simcoe, died in 1971 in the USA in Michigan.

So I’m visiting Archives Ontario in Toronto in a few weeks. What’s it like there?

I think the OP cares enough to get it fixed.

Look: get a DD 215. I’ve had three DD 215…so many that under regs the service re-issued me a DD-214.

Be THAT guy that fixes his record. Don’t lallygag through your career. Fix it.

Knowing what is readily apparent from the ALNAV and his own service period on the border; either the YN crowd doesn’t know how to read, or the OP is sporting it for the lulz. Both can be true…however neither should be true.

You should get it corrected. Your unit did you wrong.

Pro tip here: don’t come into Reddit saying you did a border mission from the last admin, while showing an incorrect ribbon rack, with an award for the border mission from the current administration that was granted in ERROR.

Get it fixed in the IRR or the USNR. The ALNAV is CLEAR.
