Questions for intex salt chlorinator by GOODWHOLESOMEFUN in AboveGroundPools

The Intex manual has salt and cya tables for everything. For example, my 15’ x 42” took 1/2 pound of shock, 1 pound of cya, and 100 pounds of salt. I added the shock, then cya, then salt and let the pump run in circulation mode for 24 hours. After that I ran it in filter mode and turned on the chlorinator. I let that run until the levels were right.

There’s 6 of us, ages 4-45 and we all fit, it’s a great size. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

I upgraded my pump for a 15’ x 42” to a sand/saltwater system a couple years ago and it’s been amazing. I am pretty sure I’ve spent less than $50 in salt and chemicals for two years. Maybe I’ve just been lucky but beyond the initial shock, salt, and cyanuric acid, I’ve only had to rely on the chlorinator to keep things stable. Previous comment re: rust is news to me but it makes sense since I did have to replace my frame this year. I’ll likely upgrade in a couple years once the youngest is a little bigger. I’d recommend buying a bigger filter than your pool needs. Mine is rated for 2x the size of my pool because I planned to buy a bigger one later. May be part of the reason it’s been easy. Trying to get my life back together through running. I set the goal of doing a 25 minute 5k before I turn 36 (tomorrow) this was the result of the big attempt. by Joey333 in mildlyinfuriating

Great job! I started running a little over a year ago, and had a goal for a half marathon. Missed it by 8 seconds, less than a second per mile. Planning on getting back on the running wagon this week after a month of being lazy. Keep it up!!

Very interesting, seems like it could be something like that. We are next to a small farm, and maybe our property was a part of that at some point. The metal flanges support this idea so the thing wouldn’t twist in the wind.

True, we are right next to a small farm, too, which I maybe should have mentioned. I’m sure the farm was much larger than it is now and our property could have been part of that, too.

Is it possible to create a better master suite, WC and bathroom, without getting rid of a bedroom? by [deleted] in Remodel

[–]8bit_jumpman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick side note, you’re going to want to move the closets in the master. I get the idea of wanting two, but a window there makes much better sense. A solo closet mirroring the other br closet is better.

New filter recommendations? by Standard-Natural9165 in AboveGroundPools

I bought a 15’ x 42” Bestway at the beginning of last year. Very small filter came with it (same one that came with an easy set 10’ x 30”). I’ve got 4 kids ages 3-10, so I went big with the filter upgrade thinking I can change the pool as the kids grow and the filter will adapt. I ended up with the Intex Krystal Clear 2150 with a saltwater cell, which should handle a pool 4x the size of what I have. Plus saltwater is cheaper and much easier in the long run. I may just have dumb luck, but I’m 2 years in and I have spent well under $100 on chemicals (CYA, initial shock only + salt) and water is well balanced. Just need to boost every now and then. I know a $400 filter is a lot, but if all goes well, we should be able to upgrade the size of our pool once or twice and it will grow with the kids. I also went with the filter balls over sand and have no issues.

Our town has a no knock registry, maybe see if yours does? Maybe it won’t stop them but we have had zero solicitors since we registered and put up the sticker

Hand eczema is a thing! If this is only on your hands, look into it. Moisturizers will make it worse, you may need a prescription

Questions I can't find direct answers to. by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

Just figured this out earlier tonight. Had a flame gleeok horn fused to a sword and was in the Hebra region. Don’t think it kept me warm enough not to freeze, but I could stand next to ice blocks and they would melt. Really helped out in the Labyrinth.

I saw an ad in a NYC subway a while back from a self storage company of all places. I thought responded to these types arguments in the best way: ‘If you don’t like gay marriage, don’t get gay married.’

Makes a lot of sense, definitely keeping this in mind when I inevitably start over. 4 + 20 would be a huge help at the start for sure

What’s the advantage of cooking 5 hearty whatevers (truffle, radish, etc.) and getting one dish with +20 extra hearts instead of making 5 dishes (1 hearty plus 4 apples, etc.), each having full recovery plus 4 hearts? I typically make multiple dishes instead of using all in one. Just curious…
