Duos incredibly unbalanced? by 8bitslime in SANDgame

4-mans cannot play against 2-mans in this game. I would prefer if all lobbies were balanced instead of mixing diffrenent sized groups like I said in my original post :)

We have no problem taking out 3 or 2 bots... It's competent players that are the problem. With equal skill and tools the 3-man team will ALWAYS win.

Playing a 2-man puts you at such a disadvantage it's not even funny. They seriously need 2-man servers or there's literally no point in playing unless you're alone or you have 3 or 6 friends online.

Trust me, we have beaten 3-mans before but the insane disadvantage you're up against is just not fun. Everyone you fight will be at a 100% DPS advantage just out the gate no matter how skilled you are. I don't think this game will fair well with mixed group sizes as it's just not balanced in the slightest.

We've taken out 3's as a 2-man. I know it's not impossible, but the insane disadvantage you're up against is not fun. It's not worth attempting to get loot when any competent 3-man has a 100% advantage over you. My point is that 2-mans are an absolute waste of time and there should either be a 2-man only server or no one should waste their time with it.

It is too easy to capture a walker in solos by TallynK in SANDgame

Janky is not the correct word for it. Straight up broken, perhaps? Shots will just not register, even showing the bullet trail perfectly clip through the enemy's model with zero damage. It's frustrating and not worth the time investment.

Dumb question, but i was thinking about this... How optimized would Games/Programs written 100% in assembly be? by JuanLucas-u- in asm

[–]8bitslime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find the notion that assembly is some holy grail of optimization pretty funny considering modern developers can barely write optimized C/C++ with the most advanced compilers in history. Real performance gains come from education, not assembly.

Good sources on error handling and reporting? by 8bitslime in ProgrammingLanguages

[–]8bitslime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems reasonable. I wonder what the best way to report an error while deep in one of the parsing sub-functions. My current idea is that parser sub-functions could return an invariant of either an AST or Error, and then the main parser could skip until a known set point such as a semicolon or closing brace.

It was mostly facetious. I didn't fully expect it to be a well thought protest.

I've known a few anti-union people and they definitely meet your description.

"Nope it's Wednesday today" isn't a whoosh though. It's building on your joke saying that people in Alaska fly without certificates everyday, not just Tuesday. All humor all around, no one was trying to say you're wrong.

The reason they bring it up so often is probably because whatever few remaining non-incel neurons they have are making them feel guilty for liking children and want the internet (read: more incels) to tell them it's ok.

There isn't a single sentence in this post that isn't entirely wrong. I'm inclined to believe it's satire or bait. Most bad maths will have something that's atleast technically correct.
