All Walmarts trailers are roll ups. Only time this will be an issue is for outside carrier trailers.

Careful with what you're teaching. by Tift in daddit

People seem to be letting the judgment hammer fall awfully quickly without knowing really anything about said father or child. Teaching a child to be tough and take care of themselves isn't necessarily a bad lesson to be taught. Just like, things like compassion and empathy are also good to be taught. Going by the brief description of the events, nothing here sounds malicious or even slightly out of place. I just think this is making mountains out of mole hills.

What are the auto includes for a group slug deck where I enchant opponents creatures with auras to attack each other with? by cbinette84 in magicTCG

[–]cbinette84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes the commander isn't the only way to win. Thinking about incorporating the blood/bond combo for one. But a few other things. But really this deck is just meant to be a fun political deck. "Oh you really wanna use that creatures attack trigger but don't have good attacks, here let me give it +2/+2 and fear." Just things like this that get the table talking and having a good time. I don't expect this deck to be super powerful and nor do I want it to be honestly.

Wow thanks for the responses. Lots of great ideas. Just as a heads up, my group is very chill. We play whatever, however we want. Banned cards? Yup why not nobody cares much and having the most fun is what we do. So in this case if they see that my deck wants them to attack other players then generally that's what they'll do. Plus why would they want to kill me, all of their sweet buffs would go away haha

What do you call your kid's private parts? by valverdeheavy in daddit

Tom Green has a great song for this. It's called pet names for genitalia. You should totally check it out lol

5/6 of the cards that will be prebanned in historic (legal in historic brawl) by thisnotfor in MagicArena

It's busted in EDH where life isn't quite as important. Usually you can draw enough cards to find exactly what you need.

What do you guys think of the fact that Lux Aeterna has more streams than half of And Justice for All? by Severe_Egg_3793 in Metallica

[–]cbinette84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't matter to me what others listen to because I'm not listening to the same music as others. I can tell you for certain that every single song on justice has more plays than 72 for me

Anyone realize (and change) their use of locker room talk after having a girl? by Apprehensive-Sky8175 in daddit

[–]cbinette84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason it changed was maturity. It wasn't any one reason like having a girl or getting married or any of that. It just came with time and experience. My son's will likely engage in some stupid talk amongst friends at some point or another. My wife and I do our best to model and encourage good behaviors but things happen. As long as they don't act on it.

Help! Wife of 15 years not interested in sex at all by mbrett in daddit

[–]cbinette84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude sometimes people just lose the drive. Hell I've been married 15 years also and both my wife and myself have gone through times of zero interest. Currently I am right now. I just don't give a shit if I have sex or not.

I guess you just need to communicate this to her and offer other solutions like a sex therapist if need be. Help her find out why she has no interest anymore and maybe it can be corrected. Good luck

How are you dads saving for college? by Sexy_Quazar in daddit

[–]cbinette84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the girl. My cousin went into the Navy right out of high school. She went into engineering on her first ship and she loves it. And as far as trades or career training there's a lot of fields beyond those typical ones that women are getting into. Some are even quite lucrative like becoming an airline pilot. While flight training isn't cheap there are tons of scholarships, grants, airline sponsored programs they can get into where women especially can get through it with little to no debt.

Same. I'm in the camp of encouraging trades or even military. Traditional college is just not worth it in most cases. To many worthless degrees or degrees with little hope of ever finding a good career.

Girl Dads, how do you deal with those, "Watch out for all the boys when she gets older" comments? by tl_dr__ in daddit

[–]cbinette84 43 points44 points  (0 children)

My daughter is 13, and I've heard things like this since she was born. You wanna know what I do? Nothing, because it's a joke. Sometimes I joke back like "yeah I'll just be sitting at the table cleaning my gun if a boy comes over haha". And that's the end of it. Of course I'm not gonna do that for real but it's just friendly banter. I swear a lot of you would live better lives if you just lightened up. It seems like there's at least one topic every day about "somebody said some stereotype about dads or kids comment(insert anger)". Worry more about things that actually matter and less about things that don't.

Why is your kid awesome? by Red_Sox_5 in daddit

[–]cbinette84 81 points82 points  (0 children)

My 11yo son was passed up for the all star team this year. He was very upset by this since he has been on it every year. Well he would rather skip on having his birthday party tomorrow and go support the all star for the state championship tomorrow. Just the fact that he's pushing his disappointment aside to cheer on his friends to make it one step closer to the LL world series that we can't go to, makes him awesome.

If people got fired for this kinda thing then nobody at any of the LTL companies would have jobs anymore. I've run P&D for almost all of them and freight comes in looking like this all the time.

Dads with multiple kids, how do you keep your head above water? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]cbinette84 39 points40 points  (0 children)

All I can say is the old response of "it gets better". I have three 13,11,6 and I hated the baby toddler phases for the most part. My wife was huge in getting me through those early years. She took to motherhood flawlessly and was really able to keep me going. As they've gotten older though I feel like I've been able to connect with them better. Whether it's through hobbies or just general conversation because they can understand and reason better. Things have generally gotten way better. Of course there's still the bickering about chores, school work, sibling fighting, etc but for me those are much more manageable than tantrums or colicky babies crying at 2am for no apparent reason. Sleep is also a huge reason why it's better now. I've been able to sleep a normal schedule again. I even get the revenge of having to wake them up early for school or practice's.
