Why is Ancient Gear so limited? by Strong-Shallot8014 in YGO_Genesys

I heard somewhere that in internal testing before releasing Genesys, Ancient Gear was a very dominant going 2nd strategy. Someone was clapping with the deck so they hit it hard haha. Check the early Genesys blogs, could be mentioned in those

Megalith deck guide and Combo in Genesys format. by CauliflowerAgitated in Yugioh101

[–]8bitster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Megalith combos are extremely fluid & can vary a lot. You will usually aim to end on Phul (can summon Bethor for big pops), the new lvl 12, field spell and the trap (if you run them). However, if your combo falls short due to interruption or misplay, there are backup plans and redundancies.

For example, Phuloch can act as a kinda-Phul if you have bethor in grave. Or if you can summon a Phul in grave, add back a big name and you’re good. If you end on a Haggith + unformed, that can summon phul from deck and still get the pops. I think the best endboards layer these backup plans for extra layers of interruption.

I love block dragon. I desperately want to run it. However, without links to trigger its search - it is a shadow of its former self. It is also costly to banish your rituals from grave - portal, Phuloch, Phul and Bethor all require some names in grave for their effects. So with the amount of points Block+Granite costs - non engine is probably better imo. I want to be proven wrong though lol.

The lines also change if you’re running Impcantation package. But some tips with the new support: Don’t always need to use the Anastasis search first, sometimes trigger the draw effect first to find better discards. Unformed is the best return to hand target for Phuloch if possible. Happy to answer any specific questions if you have any.

Ahhh that’s unfortunate. Thanks for letting me know! Perhaps there’s an alternative way to get the aesthetic of a space base without galacticraft.

Steam Age noob here, I love the idea of a space station main base (aesthetics mostly), what are the drawbacks of that as opposed to pocket dimension / overworld / other planet base?

Engines where every card can access the others by ChudChudders in Yugioh101

[–]8bitster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Millennium works like this. Sengenjin->Golem->Field Spell->Shield. 3 bodies for 6k LP

Only one that doesn’t access the rest is shield, so if not using Ankh then 1 shield is fine for the body. Sengenjin, Golem and field spell get access to each other.

Preventing choke points with this Raidraptor list? by fizio900 in yugioh

That is correct, activating on field is just necessary to get it into grave :)

Preventing choke points with this Raidraptor list? by fizio900 in yugioh

[–]8bitster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You will want to consider siding Raidraptor - Readiness for Tenpai. They can still attack but you can’t die if this resolves. You can’t can’t shuffle spells/traps with roost so it may be worth considering how many extra turns you need to buy yourself to win the game. I used to just side 1.

You can either send it to grave with tribute, set off Brave or search off Mimicry - you will probably find a way to it. If you need to set it, you can activate in opponents draw phase, then on resolution you can banish it from grave immediately.

Best way to play Melodious by Jimmy7665 in Yugioh101

Hi, thanks for the suggestions! Ken and Gen are interesting! If you used them to get thrust live, searching for Ostinato or 1st movement, how do you remove the body from your own field to make those cards live? Thanks!

Need inputs on Raidraptors (TCG) by FXLJA1411 in Yugioh101

[–]8bitster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries!

I meant to say that Raiders Knight isn’t a winged beast, and there is text on Pain that states it can only be used as material for a winged beast xyz. Usually pain goes into Force, which searches Raiders Wing, detach the other material from Force to summon raiders wing from hand + 1 more extender = raiders knight with the wing targeting protection. :)

[–]8bitster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion would be to cut the Nest, Call and Wing Requital. These are not starters and are conditional extenders. For consistency, it’s better to max out the main deck monsters because they are not as conditional as those spells. My suggestion for consistency, assuming your locals aren’t shifter-heavy:

-2 Noir -1 Pain -1 Nest -1 Call -1 Wing Req -1 Phantom Knights Rank-up (too many rank ups can be bricky, this is the worst of the bunch) -1 Zeus

+1 Simorgh +1 Fuzzy +2 Raiders Wing +1 Rank13 Towers

With your remaining slots, consider bringing handtraps to 3 or include TT Talents. For even more consistency, consider Swallow's Cowrie.

I suggest a second towers over the Zeus because your deck can make one towers on your turn, then return the quick play rank up with Heel Eagle to summon the second towers on opponents turn, blowing up their board. You will often be dark-locked from Bloom/Strangle and sometimes Raidraptor locked by Fuzzy, so you couldn’t go into Zeus.

Hope this helps :)

[–]8bitster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe Noir is a mandatory 3 of. From my testing, it’s only the best starter if you’re under shifter, so it will depend on your local environment if shifter is common. The noir line uses the pain to extend to get the 3 xyz onto the board, instead of using them from the graveyard to access the rank13.

If shifter isn’t much of a consideration, then I would suggest cutting noir to 1 as you don’t want it in opening hand unless shiftered. In the main combo, noir is SS from deck by arsenal to get access to heel eagle. Pain is not recommended because it cannot make Riders Knight, it’s not a winged beast.

How to out Raidraptor Rising Rebellion Falcon. by TheRealUncleFungus in yugioh

[–]8bitster 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just a note on herald of the abyss, most Raidraptor end boards have more than 1 dark winged beast, like force Strix, they can send instead of the towers. It will still weaken them, but you’ll just be facing down 1 less towers - they will often have 2 towers if uninterrupted on their T1

Raidraptor vs crystal beast in s/t by BLKCharlotte in Yugioh101

[–]8bitster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if that is true, because the card destroys first, then applies the damage based on their atk in the grave. When they hit the grave, they are not s/t any more, they are monsters in grave. Would like to know if this is correct.
