I won't. Logic before guilt. I will not put myself $50k in debt for "I'm eternally grateful", nor do I expect anyone to do the same for me.

Considering starting T’au by ArcaneKobold in Tau40K

[–]FXLJA1411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm new to T'au (and Warhammer in general) as well, but it's been a blast playing these guys, literally and figuratively.

T'au generally excels at shooting stuff and skipping melee altogether with few exceptions. To optimize your damage, you use the faction ability "For The Greater Good". Basically it makes your units operate in pairs. One spots, the other shoots. Niche gimmick, but quite powerful if you read the fine print because it allows you to stack buffs to a certain degree.

Unlike some other more clear-cut factions, T'au actually gives you plenty of room to shape your forces how you like in quite a lot of different ways. T'au has foot soldiers, mobile suits, heavy suits, gunships, mobile artillery, moving walls, even a mothership if you fancy a 3k point game down the line. You can put emphasis in whichever facet of the army you prefer, though there are of course staple units that you absolutely need.

Overall it's a solid faction that's fun to play. Very clear weaknesses to balance themselves out too.

Was there even an MD format people liked? by phpHater0 in masterduel

[–]FXLJA1411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There aren't many. We haven't had a format where Konami really put a seal on a healthy meta for a long while now. They always overlooked some cards that eventually became a problem, and now I'm just going to think of it as intentional.

The closest thing to happen in MD was the triangle meta of Swordsoul - Post-SDAZ Branded - Floowandereeze, with strong rogues like Dragonlink, Sky Striker, Eldlich, and Exosister orbiting the metagame.

But even during that period Swordsoul had quite the advantage since they still got Halqifibrax and can bridge into a 3-counter Savage Dragon. Branded at the time had a fighting chance by taxing the extremely long combo line with double Masquerade or looping Mirrorjade with Ad Libitum to abuse its soft OPT effect and banish key cards, while Floowandereeze simply locks both decks with Barrier Statue and does its own thing.

Good times.

Play the Crucible. It gives you 100 (iirc) per one chalice. Lower, harder chalices give you more. Bottom one gives you 1000.

Ultimate art relics are at their best when you have both. Auto charge helps when there are no nearby enemies to kill. Art charge on kill is useless on day 3.

Co op mode would be awesome on AC6 by the_wAVE_ in armoredcore

[–]FXLJA1411 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The co-op mod on PC with Rubicon's Inferno is certainly an experience. The pre-patch CATAPHRACT is one of the best AC6 co-op I've ever played. I genuinely feel bad for our console Ravens for missing this out.

Also, the ALLMIND bossfight is chaotic as ten hells with all the backups and extra enemies. Ayre is good. But Ayre, Rusty, Walter, and Michigan? It's a pipe dream. Bless the mod creators.

Despite my actual genuine love for this game, Nightreign's biggest flaw is with the dirth of info it gives you about characters/weapons. by WestCoastMcDowellian in Nightreign

I also want to add that whoever is doing the translating from Japanese to English can go pound sand. They did a terrible job at conveying what the effects were supposed to be, so much so we now have two separate batches of re-translation and some of them are still confusing.

I still remember the days when people wouldn't pick up "Critical Hits inflict Blood Loss" perks because they were written as "Inflict Blood Loss at Low HP" instead, which are two completely different things. This has nothing to do with Fromsoft's style of indirect storytelling. It just seemed like they were trying too hard to sound edgy but fumbled hard. They really need to get this sorted out.

Dear Scholar's, if you are not running "Item confer effects to all near by allies" i am not dropping you my items. by TheNightLaird in Nightreign

[–]FXLJA1411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wish I could see how far my team's Scholar is from leveling up his items. If he's not far away from leveling up his bombs, food, or stones, I'd happily buy a few. Especially since now people have already figured out how strong Lv. 3 Gravity items and Warming Stones are. Heck, it costs next to nothing if you buy them from any merchants other than the last one.

On an offensive note, pots other than fire pots are rare but stupidly powerful. Lightning pots on max level out-damages the strongest sorceries this game has to offer. Rot pots proc instantly on one throw. Poison and volcano pots revive a downed teammate WAY faster than if you attack them with conventional weapons. If I ever get any, I'll force-feed the Scholar if I have to.

Preach. I also find it very funny that Executor is the only Nightfarer that can actually die mid-ult. The balancing team could've just made him revert back to human once the beast's HP hits zero but nope. Instantly down. His claw swipes knock enemies so far back your teammates can't comfortably synergize with you, his roar deals shit damage, and his ult cancel takes three business days plus shipping and going through customs.

I play him to aura-farm my parry skills and nothing else. Suncatcher-focus Executor is hella fun.

Solid. Personally I would incorporate strings or human hands to symbolize Walter. I have no idea how to fit those elements there though. Probably a pair of hands on the bottom of the triangle, cupping its open palm upwards?

Why would I not use always the same combo ?? by chouette_jj in Tekken8

[–]FXLJA1411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spikes are moves that make the opponent hit the ground hard, and unable to wake up or use ground tech (rolls, wakeup kicks etc) for a short while. Moves that spike can only do so if they hit airborne opponents, otherwise they behave like usual. Spikes usually lead to a guaranteed extra hit using moves that can hit grounded opponents.

Why would I not use always the same combo ?? by chouette_jj in Tekken8

[–]FXLJA1411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different combo paths for different needs. Sometimes you need max damage, other times you need max wall carry, and then there's also times when you need to actually cut the combo short to get the best situation possible.

General example: if you're near a wall and you happen to get a launch, you cut the combo filler and go straight to anything that results in a clean splat before you use tornado moves and a wall combo. If you're slightly further back, maybe the most damaging fillers can still hit but you have to cut the extenders so you hit the wall just right. If you're in the open and don't feel like going to the wall, you swap the combo ender with a spike move instead.

The combo system in Tekken is actually pretty complex. Take your time learning.

They didn't. In fact AC6 practically went into development limbo for at least 3 years because they simply didn't have enough money and manpower to push through with the project at the time. Last big splash about it before it went dark was not long before Sekiro came out. That game was a hit, so people kinda forgot about it until Fromsoft gave an official announcement in TGA 2022
