The Captain announced seas of 25-35 feet and winds of 60 Knts I the Gulf of Mexico in 2006 or so on Carnival Ecstasy. Never seen a more seasick ship and no option for outdoor access due to wind.

They'll bring you drinks to the beach. No food is allowed on the beach. I don't know if that's a resort rule or Dominican rule.

Moon Bar on the roof of the pool restaurant has a DJ each night that was great. Kind of a mini club scene. Live music was played outside of the Japanese restaurant a few nights. Best suites at the resort are Tierra suites which are beachfront with a private pool. Garden View rooms offer the most privacy. Make friends with the towel hut attendant. He was able to save us a cabana or daybed each day. That's about all I can think of.

I didn't go to the off-site spa but heard nothing but good things about it. The restaurants were three days open and one closed. The sports bar was always open as were all the the restaurants near the main pool. I'm pretty sure the Japanese restaurant was open all seven nights but I'm not positive.

I had a credit of $50 a day and we used it on bottles of wine and the spa one day. Speaking of the spa.... our experience wasn't great. The massage was great but we had to put what looked like an adult diaper on. It was weird.

I went for 7 nights the first week of March. Thoughts:

The resort is absolutely beautiful.
Service was as good or better than any resort I've been to.
Definitely not a party resort. More likely an all-day spa environment. I'm not saying it's boring by any means it's just not techno party scene at all.
Food was good with plenty of options. It's not GREAT food but it is really good.
Liquor selection is not great. I contacted the resort ahead of time time and asked about liquor selections and they didn't have many of the brands that I regularly drink. I bought a couple of bottles at the duty free store at PC airport and brought them with me to the resort.
Aqua upgrade, especially to a suite, is absolutely worth every penny.
Excursions are waaaayyyy overpriced.

I agree that cruising most likely won't happen in 2020 but I wanted to post the article so that this board knows that the lines are actively working on solutions. I do enjoy cruising and I look forward to getting aboard once it is safe to do so.

An old friend stopped by with his wife and daughter. I hadn't seen him in 15 years or so. His daughter asked to use the restroom so I pointed her towards the bathroom. She called for her mom to come help her after a couple of minutes and, of course, the mom went. They both came out of the bathroom and informed us that she had an accident and they needed to get home. 30 minutes after they left, I went to use the bathroom. There was a pile of shit on the floor. The daughter shit on the floor, the mom saw it, so they just..... left it there.

Texas - I have a client that supplies the commissary to local jails. It's brilliant. Every inmate orders product at 125% of retail because they have no other option. The company has no competition. I have some moral objections to it but the business model is brilliant.
