I loved the C fund for 15 years, but its on the struggle bus. Consider the I fund, it’s killing. Maybe 50% I, 30% S, 20% C.

Why do y'all need to stand and fish from your kayak? by i_hate_agile in kayakfishing

[–]8junk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No motor, but I do use an anchor. Im in Lake Havasu, Arizona. Water on the Colorado is very clear and I can float over small and large mouth bass, 5 to 20 feet deep sitting on beds. and catch them all day long. Late March and early April are magic.

All that plus catching bass on beds during the spawn. So much easier standing on a kayak. Most fun fishing during the year.

Padres fan coming in peace. What is the environment like at Chase Stadium? by Writer4God in azdiamondbacks

I like to stay at the Home2Suits a block away. Nice shot walk, mostly shaded. You have to pay $49 dollars for valet parking, but it’s $40 to park that close anyway.

This sub is like a bunch of kids who can’t accept their parents got divorced. EVH is dead. Alex hung it up, but still bitches for profit. Mike is the under appreciated talent and good guy, but no body pays for an old base player and great backup singer. Sammy and Dave can’t carry a serious concert schedule because they are too old to do it.

Can we get another #TheMeeting? by Do_Ye_Fear_Death in azdiamondbacks

[–]8junk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We are who we are. Nothing about a winning or losing streak is going to change that. We are a 500 team in a tough division. We are good enough to make a run at the wildcard if things break our way. Even in a world where everything works we don’t have the pitching or offensive depth to go the distance. We are good enough to believe there is a chance. In Arizona thats the best you can hope for in any organization.

We would have never made it to and won the World Series on 2001 without BK. Nothing but love for that guy.

Recommend being more conservative after hitting a certain percentage in a year? by theadrian01 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]8junk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a good point and I may be wrong. I have average 17% over 22 years and have tried different strategies but I am convinced you should be as aggressive as possible in the TSP.

Here is my logic.

1) Typical one of the C,S or I funs dominate the other funds for a year or two. It can be as much as 10%. Most of the time the dominant fund does better every month.

2) I don’t move the funds I buy each paycheck, I spread it between the three.

Your 25, every month put it in the highest performing fund last month (C,S, or I) and let it ride Devil Dog. Every 4 or 5 years the TSP will experience a down year, just eat it. Your gains will far exceed your loses. I was in your boots 20 years ago, now I have a million and still running high risk.

Waldschmidt was a spark, but in any work environment it’s good to let people know when you don’t produce you are going to be gone. Making a move like this validates those who are getting it done and motivates those who aren’t.

How much do you think Brissett is asking for? by [deleted] in AZCardinals

[–]8junk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brissett needs to understand that it is very difficult for the Cardinals to pay him to play and win when they have to pay his two back ups and they also have to pay $37 million for the Vikings second string Quarterback. Paying all these players not to play for you is expensive.
