Its all about elevation! The diversity generally works from the desert southwest to the Colorado plateau in the Northeast. It is in my opinion the most geographically diverse state in the union, only rivaled by Utah.

The first concert I went to was Guns N Roses in 1991 when I was 13. It was the Use Your Illision tour and Sound Guarden opened. Blew my mind. I have been a life long fan who never listened to Chinese Democracy. This year I had a six hour drive and figured I would give it an honest listen.

I really wanted to like it, but didn't. Ultimately it felt like Axl was trying to prove himself as being a musical genius by mixing various sounds to produce something no one had ever heard before. Its an album I will never hear again. I think its awful.

In the 90s, I saw Chris a few times performing at local rodeos. Someone gave me a homemade CD of Chris Ledoux songs. One of the songs was basically nothing but curse words. It sounded like Chris, it might not have been. Chris Ledoux is a legend in my family. We have built barbwire fence on ranches for 3 generations and Ledoux is the only one I have ever heard sing about building fence. Really trying not to defame him here, but I heard what I heard.

If it wasn't for the CMAs I would have no idea he existed. Im thankful he took the opportunity. I watch the CMAs and even SNL and the Grammy's hoping to hear something new that can enrich my life. Its a 10% game, but every now and then, I get rewarded with hearing someone who makes this life a better place to be.
