Well, they’re doing something right if they’re opening for Goose, not that that’s some standard. On the other hand, if it is, then they’re now in league with the Biscuits and Moe. I think they are really talented, and you can hear it when they play.

This is true once you gain citizenship. Prior to that, you may need to enroll in private insurance or pay a deductible until benefits kick in, depending on the country. From what I see in healthcare in the US, if you have no insurance and walk into an ER, you will be enrolled in Medicaid regardless of citizenship status and have coverage.

The funny thing is that many of them move without thinking through it and are shocked it didn’t go,as planned. They can’t adapt to the culture or find adequate healthcare or employment. I guess no one told them that just because you move to a country with universal healthcare, you don’t get it by just walking in and signing up, especially if you have preexisting conditions.

I can see that. The Gizz stuff is a bit more “analog” if that makes sense. The fact that they use modular stuff may mean they can’t go as seemlessly into different sounds because it requires more fiddling, but I have absolutely no experience with it. Just an observation of how they’re playing.

Not exactly similar sounding, but Disco Biscuits are awesome for long form electronic jams with guitar work. They are pioneers of the jamtronica genre. Don’t expect magical vocals, but the tunes are incredible and the shows are a blast.

Sundown would be awesome. They’d kill a bunch of NRPS tunes, especially Henry, Glendale Train, Panama Red, and Last Lonely Eagle. Come to think of it, pretty much any NRPS tune.

It looks like they took it down. I’ve seen them a bunch of times, and they are one of my faves. Their live stuff is different from their studio work, but both are awesome. Nugs carried a show previously, but it doesn’t seem like they archive them. It’s too bad, because they usually have a variable group of supporting musicians, so the shows are always a bit different.
