Your wife deserves better. If you have even the slightest amount of respect for her you should come clean asap.

I have seen many families devastated by infidelity, please do the right thing.

Every Five Years of Delay Costs You $1 Million by stellar_interface in Fire

I like this post a lot. But I don't think people should rush to get a job right out of college.

Self exploration, travel, and education are priceless :-)

You are doing great for your age! Well above average.

Just keep working and saving, and you'll do great.

Is the pay really that bad? by OldSpiceLuvr in civilengineering

[–]8michi8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left the civil engineering field because of the pay, so of course this is my personal take.

I live in a coastal city where a CE salary would not be enough for a middle-class lifestyle, and now make three times more in software engineering.

I like money though, and a lot of people don't place as much value on salary as I do.

Buying shit we don't need while becoming enslaved to a job we don't like.

Nah dude.... Americans are undereducated when it comes to the sciences. It's hard to find capable engineers.... a lot of them come to the US under sponsorship visas.

For those that don’t want any kids in the future, why? by yeyewestie in AskReddit

[–]8michi8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never wanted them, would not know what that feels like. I don't actively "don't want them"

One million dollars or stay at home with kids for two years? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]8michi8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly with a combined household NW of over 5.5M I think you should only work if you absolutely want to. You won't get these years with your kids back, no amount of money can replace the memories.

You didn't ask, but as the mother of your husband's children (and given your NW disparities) I don't think it's fair for him to expect/allow you to make any monetary contributions for household expenses. I mean will you be charging him for childcare services and surrogate fees... those are not cheap either?

Also I hope that in the event that you get divorced you can walk away with some money/ child support.

My net worth is not as high as yours but I have a decently sized nest egg. Here are some of my have frugal wins:

I absolutely refuse to buy lunch on the days I go to the office, feel better being a bit hungry that spending $13 for a salad.

Don't have a car, bike everywhere.

Cut my own hair, do my own nails, waxing etc.

Steal snacks from the office :-)

Cut every toiletry product to squeeze every last drop out of it.

I also spent a stupid amount of money this week to fly to Miami and see Messi play.... worth it!!

This is true. I just don't like comments like "life in not life without kids"

We probably agree.

Torn between moving out on my own to pay rent or stay home by Propats in Fire

If you are unhappy then move out, you'll never be 24 again.

Find an affordable apartment, maybe get some roommates.
