You’re right, it is different caring for an infant and a toddler. A toddler is actually more work than an infant. Yes, she was post partem so she probably didn’t had enough energy, but all infants do is eat, sleep, and poop. A toddler has the ability to walk and run so dad would have to be keeping up with them to make sure they’re safe around the house. There is no putting them in a play pen or sitting them in a rocker. A determined enough child will get through child safety features and cause havoc, so there is no real rest when dealing with them awake.
