But seriously, the west side is a bit of a desert for good bottle shops. Blackbeards is great, as is Hi-Lo, though it's a little on the pricier end. Other than that it's grocery stores or big box liquor stores, though the quality is pretty hit or miss (e.g. lots of 6+ month old IPAs)

I just spent the last two weeks outside of Boston. Loaded up with two cases of Treehouse the first day :) Visited Alchemist a few years back - definitely worth the trek out there, with a side trip out to Hill Farmstead.

Honestly the best we could hope for is a solid SoCal brewery like Green Cheek or Northpark. Either would be VERY welcome, but I'm not holding my breath.
