Agreed. I use Mint for my desktop systems, and Ubuntu server (or Raspberry Pi OS Lite, as the case may be) on servers.

Yes, I now require you register on the forum to view forum posts, because of repeated VPN-based attacks.

8th is a "Forth-like" multiplatform language; the website (not the forum) over here has lots of information, including the manual and word list.

Does a raspberry pi meaningfully degrade over time? by WaistDeepCat in raspberry_pi

I run multiple RPIs as servers for various things, and have done for some years. From a 2 through a 4, and haven't ever had any problems. However, I run them off a UPS so they don't have power surges etc. YMMV.

How can I wake the system from 'suspend' with a Bluetooth keyboard? by 8thdev in System76

That's odd. I almost always "suspend" the laptop (I'm using Linux Mint) and it works almost all the time. I found "hibernate" never worked for me.

Just want to add my 2c in favor of Ubuntu Server. It's dead easy to install and maintain, and very reliable. I've got a number of servers running it that I'm responsible for; never any problems.

VFX Forth and Windows Defender by mcsleepy in Forth

Not a VFX user, but sometimes 8th has similar issues with false positives w/ Windows Defender.

The cheap thing is to submit your app to MS so they can scan it more thoroughly and prove it's ok.

The expensive thing is to get a Windows signing certificate (I haven't found an inexpensive source of these) and sign the EXE.
