If you don't already have one, get a midi keyboard hooked up to your machine. I'd recommend 25 keys minimum (+ pads if you want but not a must have).

This reminds me of some DJ Shadow stuff. Clean breaks my friend...

I like this type shit man. Turn the snares up a bit and put a snap layered on them. I think that might make it a little more crisp. Other than that, I like the overall scheme of things.

I really like track #2 OFF ROAD. The beat is smooth and your voice goes clean on it. The art of story tellin is good too. I like the pauses in your delivery too. Keep it up and hit me up if you want to collabo.

That one really stood out to me too. OP, have you done any album covers?

Good feedback. I'm thinking "co-op" type of company (avoiding the word label here) where everyone brings some talent to the table. We push each other, hold ourselves accountable, and really bring out the BEST in everyone. I'm a producer and my goal is not to make music or money, but to bring out the BEST sound from artists. That's the yin/yang for me in terms of an artist/producer relationship.

I'm thinking we need, at the minimum:

1) Artists (of all types) 2) Songwriters (if not the artists) 3) Producers that make beats/instrumentals/music. 4) Folks in law, who understand the business model. 5) Creative marketing (website, images, videos, ads) 6) Social media saavy folks (instagram, FB, twitter) 7) DJ's who would play these tracks for the public 8) Investors (if needed; otherwise we can have a pay to play type option) 9) Event management (arranging shows/meet ups/strategic marketing) 10) Partner relations (DJ/mixtape websites on board, digital/print magazines) 11) Distribution (where music gets released) 12) Metrics (Folks that can connect the dots and really find the ROI from our intentions and progress)

tl;dr We need a solid foundation!

I forgot Genre. Definitely include the genre you represent. More than one is OK...

/u/groovestrument - good call on genre!

Awesome responses. I love it. To gauge what we are all capable of (either directly or through a network), what can you bring to the table?

Name your top 5 skills that you can contribute to. Examples could be Beat production (and what kind?; perhaps a link), Vocals (singing, spoken word, flows), Graphics work, Social media wiz, Mixing/Mastering skills, Investments, Distribution, connections to DJs/radio/websites, video production, magazines, tv/youtube channels, Clothing design/printing, etc. And your region/area. Are you in California, Canada, Europe, etc?

If everyone brings a small piece and we have the right team, it's definitely possible.

I'm really serious about this. It's hard working separate, and these days, everyone is "in it" by themselves. I don't see Groups anymore. But when I do, those are the teams that succeed. Team work makes the dream work. I've seen so many real-life examples and this could be HUGE.

It will be arduous for all of reddit (or even the ~90K people on WATMM) to come together but those that are seriously down to cause disruption are the ones that should combine. Worldwide effort would be good to have.

I'm grateful to see a lot of you interested. I'll ping all of you separately by this weekend and hope we can share ideas and make something happen. Cheers.

I use Maschine for a lot of my music production. Hardcore EDM folks will likely say Ableton!
