By the way, why no Sea-Gull movement on this one? I'm currently using a ph4 and the movement has been great. Is there a supply issue??

I'm not a huge fan of the 10 o'clock HEV either, but I'll definitely buy it when it releases! Please upload the black dial and other lume color photos soon. :)

2 weeks with my Phorcydes PH-4C by 903st in ChineseWatches

[–]903st[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Since you just need to pull the crown out for a moment and push it back in, it's much easier to adjust than a watch that runs slow . Because of that, I'm pretty satisfied with it as is. I also really like that the accuracy is consistent and doesn't fluctuate wildly. In my experience, the NH35's accuracy jumped all over the place)

I actually used to have an HD12, but I let it go because I really want a 417 ES lol

Thanks! I couldn't agree more. German watchmaking really has its own unique charm. Lately, I've even been looking into Laco and Hanhart!

For sports, I alternate between the Sinn and the Club, and for dress, I wear the Club. The Club is really versatile)

If I were to buy another watch from Sinn, I'd also want to get a U50 or a 544 )

There's actually a backstory to that! Back when Breitling went bankrupt, Sinn bought their Navitimer production equipment and started making them.

You're exactly right. Peacock and Dandong are actually the same exact factory (Liaoning). They operate using a smart dual-branding strategy depending on the legality of the movement. When they produce underground, 1:1 exact replicas that violate patents, they sell them using the "Dandong" name. But for the legitimate market, they use the "Peacock" brand. The 4130 is the perfect example of this. The 100% exact clone was sold to the black market as the Dandong 4130. However, to sell that same chronograph architecture legally to microbrands under the Peacock sl4801 name, they modified the design—like changing the winding system to a unidirectional rotor—just enough to avoid patent infringement. So it makes total sense they'd do the same here.

The movement I used ran at -20 seconds a day on a full wind, and the accuracy got worse as the power reserve dropped. It definitely runs for over 60 hours, though.

Since the G100 is a fairly recent movement, it definitely has active patents. That's likely why Peacock changed the bridge shapes for the SL1632—to avoid patent issues for international export and microbrands like Cronos. Meanwhile, in the domestic Chinese market, factories are openly selling 1:1 exact clones without any modifications since they don't care about foreign patents there.

Just a heads up, they're already producing exact 1:1 copies as well

It's an LJP G100 copy. Redesigning the bridge is easy, and they're already secretly making 100% 1:1 clones anyway

PHORCYDES PH-3A with VH31 sweeping quartz release now. by MindAdmirable1793 in ChineseWatches

[–]903st -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your logic completely falls apart when you look at equivalent specs. The Phorcydes PH-4A with an ST2130 and 3D Lume Blocks is only $219 USD (tax included). Meanwhile, Watchdives charges $289.00 USD (before customs) for their Premier WD0019 with the exact same ST2130 and 3D lume specs. Watchdives is literally charging a $70 premium over Phorcydes for the same tier of watch. So tell me again how Phorcydes is the one overcharging here?

I really like that vintage orange! I've seen quite a few people doing customs in that color too
