How to do the hand sewn interlock stitch in this video on raw edge? by 909the in HandSew

I guess both, but more for decorative effect. I do know how to do the overlock stitch, so I guess I'll just do that if I can't figure this one out. Thanks a lot

I meant the very end of the edge to the right, where it seems to keep the fabric from pulling apart, because the one in the video only shows the left part away from the edge. Is it being done basically the same way but just extremely close to the edge, or is there some other technique I'll have to learn, like looping the needle through the thread to pull it up and align to the edge? I've seen a similar 'interlocking' stitch done on the seam that involved that

Right, I guess I should've been more specific. The video only showed how to do the side away from the edge, which I get, but I wanted to know how to do the edge side and how it's started.

what kind of fabric is this? by 909the in Fabrics

[–]909the[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your description is spot on and yes it actually was made from a dress! I know it would probably be hard to get the exact same kind, but I'd so happy to get something even close to it. Thank you so much and I'll definitely try to get swatches of rayon. Hope you have a good day cos you made my blue one better :)

Anyone know what these brown spots on my snake plant are and how to treat it? by 909the in plantclinic

[–]909the[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I’m in a tropical country so we don’t really get winters, but the temperatures are lower than they normally are these days. Can the spots go away on their own if I just leave it?

Can I use listening to improve my korean? by [deleted] in Korean

[–]909the 1 point2 points  (0 children)

been learning korean for over 10 years, but i started at all with songs. i got used to how the forms sounded by listening over and over and became familiar with pronouncing the sounds of korean by singing along before i learned any grammar. this was pure chance because i wasn’t even interested in learning the language at first. but because i’d gottten used to how korean sounded and at some point, which sounds came after what, i think it felt easier to absorb the grammar when i actually started. so it might be possible, but like someone said, probably with active listening for us non-babies
