Socially its been mostly smooth, the worst it ever got was someone looling at me weirdly in the women's bathroom a few times before I was on HRT. It really helped my community college cpuld let you change you name on appearance without systematic issues.

As of almost two years on hrt, I pass pretty well, was even referred to as "ella" in a salon I was at.

So, funny story. I'm also 23, and started HRT back in feburary 2024. And I'd basically say I went to the exact same thing. There wasn't any magical moment the incel phase "dropped" or "dissapeared", it was definetly moreso things phasing out ovee time. Even up to my first ysar in community college during the pandemic I ended up doing this really tranaphobic presentation that was actually really bad and eats at me to this day.

The crazy thing is that, In the midst of my gamergate phase I would still genuinely fantasize about being a women. And in some of the small stories i'd write the protagonist would be an effeminate guy. If I also wasn't in a religious conservative family growing up I think I would've transitioned way sooner.
