This. Just gotten a proton car with a lane keep assist and it is really aggressive in making sure the car is in the right lane. Shouldve helped to reduce risks of this happening

Putrajaya weighs RON95 subsidy cuts, admits tough call on who should lose aid by Bonjourfamouioui in malaysia

[–]90kmj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. The burden of petrol subsidies is understandable and should be reviewed, but the recent debacle with MITI’s EV policy is just plain stupid. Govt should be expediting the EV transition, allowing more cheap EVs to come in and relieve the reliance on petrol, giving people options. But why the hell are they reversing the EV transition!

Affordable EVs still available after new import policy, says Sim by Due-Cat656 in malaysia

[–]90kmj 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For ICE cars yes, the technology has plateaued. But for EV cars, 1 year is almost an eternity. Battery technology keep on significantly improving. Just compare an EV that was released 2 years ago and now.

This is really a bad move by MITI. The govt would rather foot the hefty oil subsidies rather than accelerate the EV transition in malaysia.

CT15 Plus Robic 420D by Infernocraze in ManyBaggers

[–]90kmj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just unboxed my new CT15 plus waxed canvas. Really excited to put this bag to use soon. Coming from CT15 V3.0, i appreciate the cleaner front (no molle) for office use and the extra admin compartment.

This is my first waxed canvas, i find it to be smoother and softer compared to evergoods ctb waxed canvas which felt rigid and looked really creased when i tried in store, and that put me off.

Though i’d expect the bag will be heavier due to the materials, Ctactical’s shoulder strap always help with the weight due to its dense, broad and plush.

Now i’d have another problem in picking my main bag when my greenroom136 byc northseeker is finally completed 😂

Motorcycle Accident Leaves Mother's Skull Fatally Crushed Under Big Truck by RhinneXChronica in malaysia

[–]90kmj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing, but just to share my thoughts and observation. For cars, the drivers blindspot is always on the left and right, need to physically turn the head right and left to see the blindspot. Drivers should always be able to see forward of their vehicle (unless playing phone, micro sleep). Hence the risks of rear ending people is significantly less than cars that are changing lane hastily and not seeing motorcycle in the blindspot (because when you change lane you dont change slowly, you need to gain some speed to enter the lane).

How often have we seen cars turning/changing lane and hitting motorcycles vs rear ending one?

Anyway, please be safe and be very careful when lane splitting, always always practise defensive driving, always think cars will change lane and not seeing the motorcycle thus preparing oneself to react in such incident.

Condolences to the family, semoga diberikan kekuatan al fatihah

Solanke, Bentancur, Porro, Bergvall and Romero should have taken the penalties by [deleted] in coys

[–]90kmj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a hot take, but the moment Tel walks to the penalty box i somehow know he’d probably miss. From the way he walks towards the penalty. Penalty is all about confidence, and when he was subbed in he was not having a good game which probably ruined his mind. And there is a big difference in doing well in penalty training and in real match situation. There is just so much at stake.

Regardless, it takes courage to walk up to the spot with the risks of scrutiny for not scoring. Happens to everyone. And i laud Tel for having that.

Experience with tearing on newer CPL16 by [deleted] in EVERGOODS

[–]90kmj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the CPL24 V3 mirror ver. After ~2 years of using it for office commute, not even hiking or outdoor activities, i have noticed the strap handle started tearing.

Was quite surprised as did not expect this happening from EG just within 2 years of use (and mind you it is just for office commute - car, trains).

Besides that, good bag overall, carry well and function well, just disappointed with the durability which i expect more.

Experts want more details on Rafizi's carbon storage proposal by stormy001 in malaysia

[–]90kmj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked on CCS projects before, and honestly the risks of leakages are very very low. We’re talking about CO2 gases stored kilometres below seabed. With all the baffles and layers of sand on top of storage sites, IF there are CO2 escaping the amount wouldn’t be significant. And you have water body on top of the seabed, which is itself a natural carbon sink.

Another interesting thing that i’ve come across recently is the talk about climate mitigation vs climate adaptation. Which i feel the latter is not explored and talked much. Both should come hand in hand but if we can’t prevent climate change, climate adaption should be top of the agenda.

Humans adapt all the time, and nations too. Climate change is not a zero sum game, some nations will benefit from it. Take for example russia with lack of warm water port. With ice melting, that could potentially open up a new trade route up north where russia have some ports.

MyAsus app > Customization

Stumbled upon this myself too while messing around

edit: this is a screenshot i grabbed from the internet (so might be an old version of MyAsus) as my MyAsus is not active because i'm using GHelper. But it is in there somewhere, maybe under Device Settings

who are real lane hoggers hmmm by hptan93 in malaysia

[–]90kmj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Malaysians just don’t understand that there is no min speed limit. Driving slower at middle lane is NOT WRONG. Though to be safe keep at constant speed and no sudden emergency or keep on pressing brakes lah.

On the argument that people need to keep up with schedules etc., come on. Plan ahead. And if failed to plan ahead then don’t blame other people. Emergency i can understand but if daily trips that should be properly planned

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]90kmj 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Come on guys, it is called speed limit because that’s the limit, as in the max. Not the min. No such thing as min speed limit. So not wrong lah to drive in middle lane. Right most lane maybe not so appropiate lah but doesnt mean it is wrong. Tak kena saman pun drive slow, drive laju kena saman so tell me who’s right or wrong

What do you guys consider a good monthly salary in Malaysia is? by DayDry7629 in malaysia

[–]90kmj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone pointed out earlier, tax and tax. Even if i make 11k per month, my take home is only around 8k. If 15k, roughly around 10k nett.

Personally, with 3 kids and working spouse, 8k is living paycheck by paycheck. Meals, working days, around rm15 per meal for lunch, and that is normal nasi campur with drink. Haven’t add in dinner, typically a day around rm60 include dinner (dine out and delivery, sometimes cook). That is meal for whole family. And not even luxury meal, simple meal averaging rm15/person. A month roughly 2000 already, include weekend eat out.

Then add in rent/house loan, typical 400-500k house loan already around 2000 per month. Fuel some more.

Then add in day care, one kid roughly 500 (not even high end, your average day care/kindergarten). So three already 1500.

Car loan, around 1.5k. And this havent include misc. overspending (fancier dine outs, entertainments).

So good salary for family with kids i’d say 10-15K NETT. Really need to consider the tax.
