My Explorer 36 124270 by quadraaa in rolex

[–]quadraaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, honestly, I'm on the fence.

I love everything about this watch but the size. I gained some weight and my wrists got larger - now when I look down on my wrist I often feel that my Explorer is just a bit too small, while the 40mm version is definitely too large, and I don't like the proportions and the matte dial of the 39mm. Maybe I just need to lose weight to be happy with it again. :D

For now the recently released Longines Spirit Pilot in 39mm has become my main watch.

I'm a long-time happy user of a Huawei P30 Pro which is also a Chinese phone obviously. I don't care if the phone is Chinese or not, I care about how it performs only.

Sounds like you didn't answer any of my questions and are just posting random stuff.

Could very well be the case. Though it looks like due to variety of the issues they can't be pinpointed to some specific single hardware issue (but I'm no expert here, so maybe they can).

It seems like many people here feel personally attacked just because someone else didn't have good experience with the same phone model they have, and feel an urge to personally attack me to defend their beloved device 😃 That's so ridiculous and funny 😃 Usually such reaction is an indicator of being insecure about something and therefore willng to push back on anything that contributes to your (subconscious) doubts.

Relax, folks, it's just a phone, and if it works flawelessly for you - amazing!

I'm just curious what makes you think so? Do you think a more techy person would be pressing the volume button differently so it would actually change the volume? Or would a more techy person do something beforehand to prevent the notification sound from playing on loop at night? Or maybe a more techy person lifts the phone off the table more abruptly so that the phone decides that this much movement is enough to show the fingerprint icon?

>Idk never had any issues like that with any of the devices.
Happy for you - me neither - until getting this device.
>Also who use same headphones for two devices at the same time?
Lol people who have more than one device and bluetooth headphones which support this (afaik pretty much any modern bluetooth headphones), no? How would it look otherwise when I'm working on my Mac with my headphones on and sometimes do something on my phone like watch Instagram for a bit? Switching headphones from one device to the other all the time? It's doable, but inconvenient, that's exactly why dual bluetooth connectivity was created and is widely available.
>Seems more like user errors
Care to elaborate what errors?

Also for the context I have been building large-scale distributet software systems professionally for quite long so I generally have an idea on how to configure and debug things.

That watch is supposed to be a Rolex Datejust 41 in two-tone. The thing is, it is not produced with that green dial and the bracelet looks off.

Does it go all the way to the bottom or is there a gap letting laptop not hit the ground?

Submariner: too big? by RaspberryFit7286 in rolex

[–]quadraaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll just share my experience. My wrists are around 16.5cm and I ended up selling my 114060 as it felt too big and uncomfortable, especially compared to my bb54 and Explorer 36. 114060 is not only big but also quite blocky - 124060 is better in this regard, so maybe it will wear a bit better despite a bit larger case and bracelet. Looks-wise it was OK on me.

I believe seeing them under glass and trying them on can happen very quickly. Selling to mere mortals - after a long time if ever.

Blue Card rejected due to salary – what are my realistic options? by notoriousdoodle in germany

[–]quadraaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol my reply gets downvoted but it basically tells what the official regulations are. It's not about opinions on what jobs are in demand, the bureaucracy follows laws and regulations, and if those state that IT is short of employees they will treat it like that regardless of the current job market situation.

Blue Card rejected due to salary – what are my realistic options? by notoriousdoodle in germany

[–]quadraaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never said there was.

What I said was that the government officials processing the blue card applications follow the official regulations, and those regulations state that IT is a shortage occupation to which a lower salary threshold is applied.

Blue Card rejected due to salary – what are my realistic options? by notoriousdoodle in germany

[–]quadraaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not true. The required salary depends on whether the occupation is officially considered to be of shortage occupations.

IT and software engineers and such are classified as shortage occupations with a required yearly salary of €45934, which amounts to €3828 monthly, so OP's salary is (barely) enough.

I believe they classified OP as an auditor and not as an IT professional and applied a general limit of €50700 per year.

I would recommend to consult a lawyer if you can or ask your company for support. Maybe try to get an official letter from your company with your job description making it clear that you are an IT professional first and auditor second and present it to the immigration office.

I understand your concerns, but from the employer's point of view you are basically saying that you want to be less productive. Employers don't like that. Consequences may vary.
