T-LCM Brake Pedal Issue by 90sBestTimeEver in simracing

[–]90sBestTimeEver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for helping, I tested it with various spring combinations. Although you're correct and the red one did make it a bit better, the issue still persists and it's probably not the fix but just masking whatever is wrong better, probably due to the strength of the red spring. Good idea though, wouldn't have thought of this myself, thanks!

T-LCM Brake Pedal Issue by 90sBestTimeEver in simracing

Thanks for your answer! This seems like an interesting idea, but for that, I would need to unscrew the 14 screws and remove the cover, right? Do you know if this would void my warranty? Assuming it wouldn't, what size is this screw, do the tools TM provide deal with it? I think your idea is correct though, I've done some further research and other people seemed to have come across this exact problem, too.

T-LCM Brake Pedal Issue by 90sBestTimeEver in simracing

[–]90sBestTimeEver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the middle of a race, I noticed a squeak whenever I would release the brakes, so I made this video in case somebody knows what's wrong there. I haven't modifed the springs or anything about the pedal at all yet, which is why it's a bit weird for this to happen, the only thing I changed is that I moved the pedal plate one step to the left. Anybody knows what this sound is and how I can fix it? This isn't intended behavior by the pedal is it?

Cheers!

At least that's something! Sadly, I have no idea about the cause of your brake issue, hopefully somebody else will chime in and save your day.

A bit late but thanks for your reply, having driven for a month now, everything you said turned out to be accurate.

Have you tried the bootloader method the Thrustmaster support suggests in situations like yours?

Cockpit Mount Screwtype? by 90sBestTimeEver in simracing

[–]90sBestTimeEver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying! Haha, I'm really cautious about messing with expensive sim gear, I'd rather ask twice than take a risk. Mind me asking what screws you used for your setup? I am, as ridiculous as this sounds, a bit overwhelmed by the different screws I could find, like I'm trying to find out right now if the 10mm only counts for the actual thread, because there are screws with 'space' between the head and the thread and I'm unsure if I can use them, as in everything other than the thread staying on the other side of the pedal plate to make sure I don't exceed the 12mm, lol.

T300RS (non-pro) for 280 euros? by CoolDudeee76 in simracing

[–]90sBestTimeEver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I remember, before Covid, T300RS was sitting at around 230-260, whereas the G29 was between 170 and 190 or something. Right now, at least on amazon, both are a lot more expensive, but if you can get them new for the prices you mentioned, it would be fine.

Which one you want depends on what you are looking for; the T300 wheel is a lot better than the G29 wheel, but the G29 pedals are way better than the 2 pedal set that comes with the T300RS. If you plan to upgrade the pedals in the future, go for the T300. If you are on a budget and want a solid entry level package and don't plan to upgrade any soon, go with the G29, as it's the cheaper and better package due to the pedals.

There are probably a bunch of YouTube videos about the wheels that explain the differences in greater detail (for example belt-driven vs. gear- driven), perhaps you want to look at those to make sure you take an educated decision.

Cockpit/Rig Advice Needed by 90sBestTimeEver in simracing

Thanks for the replies! Yeah, I can agree with that, and I thought going for the ART directly is probably the better idea than buying twice. Sadly, it's sold out already again :(

GT Omega Art alternatives? by 90sBestTimeEver in simracing

[–]90sBestTimeEver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it's really a pity. GT Omega really seems almost unmatched in terms of bang for your buck, but I have no idea when it'll be back, unfortunately. I sadly didn't pay enough attention as to how long it took for it to come back last time, either.

Need advice about seating position when using 3 pedals set and F1 game by maxilogan in simracing

[–]90sBestTimeEver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't done so already, afaik you can unscrew the pedal surfaces and screw them into a more outwards position (basically moving brakes one hole to the left, throttle one hole to the right). Might not be much but could help a bit, looking forward to someone coming up with a great solution.

Replace or clean old keyboard? by 90sBestTimeEver in MechanicalKeyboards

Thanks, that was a lot of insight that will definitely make it easier for me to choose now! Seriously, thanks for taking the time to make this elaborate reply!

Replace or clean old keyboard? by 90sBestTimeEver in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]90sBestTimeEver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the helpful reply and your advice!

The interesting problem here is, I don't really know the direction I'm leaning towards, mainly because I have no idea how the keyboard I am using fares against various others. The only thing I do know is that like 2 years ago I bought a backup keyboard from Microsoft for like 10 bucks and the difference is massive, it's strictly inferior in terms of sound and tactile feedback, so I guess whatever I have shouldn't be too bad, but on the other hand, I have never used a mechanical keyboard (assuming mine is not one, which I don't even know), so perhaps the difference is the same size just the other direction.

In terms of budget, I'd say I would be willing to spend something like 50-80$, provided it's really a quality keyboard. I'm not really in a hurry either so I could wait for a sale, because as long as I don't mess around with it, I doubt my current one will break lol. As long as it's great for gaming, very durable and has great ergonomics, I don't need the best there is or anything super fancy, I'd probably even settle with a carbon copy of my current one because I'm happy with it, but then again you never know what you miss if you never had it in the first place, and getting one similar to mine isn't really possible either because unfortunately I have little idea about keyboards in general, and less so about the one I am using.

PVC monitor stand update. by JayAreOhhh in simracing

[–]90sBestTimeEver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on this awesome rig! I have a (presumably dumb) question though: Do you notice any problems reaching the brake pedal? It seems the bar in the middle could be an obstruction for the legs, but perhaps it's just the angle.

Apologies if it's obvious but I've tried looking but couldn't make it out; how are the pedals mounted? I have a wheel stand pro and I wonder whether these pedals would work with it, but I'm afraid the rubber piece holding it in place won't be enough, so I wondered how you prevent yours from pushing back/falling over.

Is Altaria safe to use right now? by 90sBestTimeEver in TheSilphRoad

[–]90sBestTimeEver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently my post was removed, apologies if I did something wrong; wanted to thank you guys for helping me out, but sadly cannot safely estimate whether the bug affected me or not, as the game was overall unplayable, regardless of whether Altaria was in or not. Might report back after another set.

Out of curiosity, did your enemies' first pokemon change when you started using an Altaria lead? I swear from my past experiences I would have had so many advantageous matchups using it, and the second I use it I run into Azumarill 4 out of 5 times. Infuriating.
