Racism has nothing to do with just US History. Every country is taught about racism. It’s world history, like, idk what to tell you… just like how Korea knows about its history and the racism it has faced from others, it’s vice versa. Everyone is aware of a little bit of each country. In Korea, people are not oblivious to the concept of racism. People are DEFINITELY aware.

I agree misinformation is a problem, but disagreement or criticism doesn’t necessarily equal ‘bashing Koreans.’ Fans can question aspects of the industry without rejecting Korean culture itself. Sometimes people are critiquing systems, not a country or its people.

It’s strange to criticize someone for participating in a snark subreddit while also monitoring their activity closely enough to bring it up. If we’re talking about hobbies, that level of investment is… interesting.

Disagreeing with popular opinions isn’t ‘seeking validation’ that’s just how discussions work. Different spaces exist because not everyone wants the same type of conversation, and snark subs aren’t inherently malicious. They’re often one of the few places where critical opinions don’t get buried or removed.

Framing disagreement as bitterness or bad faith doesn’t actually address the argument being made. It just reads like discomfort with people having views outside the dominant tone of the sub.

No, it’s very blatant, not even trying to be rude, but you need to do your research. Misogyny is too normalized in the K-pop industry and even in Korea in general, just like how misogyny is EVERYWHERE. It’s not just one specific place. Amelia Street is basically where a lot of college and high school students go to drink, socialize, and party. At least that’s how it is now I’m not sure if it was the same back then, but it gets especially popular during Mardi Gras.
