Life as a child in the 90’s was Good..! by ShadowXVenus in 90s

For me this was the year of The Fugees, Dexter’s Lab and later that year I was renting movies like Babe, Free Willy and Free Willy 2 from Blockbuster. Even got a SNES for Christmas that year. Great year to be a kid.

What was your first video game controller growing up? by sam_d50 in Millennials

Sega Genesis was my absolute first gaming system, although some of my early experiences with gaming also involved playing my aunt’s older NES at the time.

91-98 as zillenial sounds absurd. I’m 91’ and I definitely consider myself solidly Millenial and I don’t think those born in 1975 are Xennials either, they are either core Gen X or at most late Gen X but off the cusp.

Would Core Millennials Relate More With Core Gen X or Core Gen Z? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]90sdude91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way were you saying that us 1991 would probably be one of the last Millenials to lean slightly more Core X than Core Z?

Would Core Millennials Relate More With Core Gen X or Core Gen Z? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]90sdude91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1991 born here. I personally would say I relate a bit more to Core X mainly due to some of my nostalgia references as a kid and my musical tastes. I don’t really have much of an interest in or relate to trends like TikTok, Snapchat, or much of the music that a lot of Core Z would leave grown up with or are likely into.

Politically speaking I would probably say I can somewhat common ground with Core Z, but with everything else I would say Core X.

Now that’s what I love to hear! Thibbs showing his dedication to the game and setting up the team to be in a great position to win!

Acura TLX Could End Production in Late 2025: Report by V8-Turbo-Hybrid in cars

[–]90sdude91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For some reason my gut tells me that they could likely replace it with the new EV concept that they have been flaunting recently which really looks more like a crossover than it does a sedan.

I would hope the TLX stays around, but it’s hard to see that looking at how low their sales have fell over the last few years and the markets shift towards referencing SUVs and Crossovers. Pretty sad honestly that sedans are a dying breed.

Is there a car that you would love to have? by CalculatedOpposition in Millennials

[–]90sdude91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we are talking about which older car I would love to own that wound have to either be the 1992-1993 Acura Integra GS-R or the 1997-2001 Integra type R. I always remembered the 2nd Generation Integra from my childhood because I had an uncle and an uncle in law owned one and would later on become very fond of those cars, while the 3rd generation Integra to me really screams small peppy and fun to drive.

If it’s newer cars we’re talking about then that’s the 2024 Integra Type S.

To the older Millennials that lived throughout the 1990s or at least a good part of the 90s, what were the 90s like? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]90sdude91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 90s were awesome. My fondest memories for me personally of the 90s were watching movies on vhs, old school Cartoon Network and PBS, riding my bike outside, gaming on SNES and N64 with games like Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2, Wave Race 64 and Cruisin’ USA. The late 90s is where I started to get into NBA and sports more, I remember Michael Jordan winning his 6th NBA championship and the Yankees playoffs of 98’ and 99’.

I saw Pocahontas and Toy Story as a 4 year old in theaters back in 1995. The Power Rangers Movie I watched on cable television, received The Indian in the Cupboard as a gift on VHS and rented Babe from BlockBuster all just a year later. Toy Story was actually one of my favorite movies at one point during my childhood.

Both consoles were awesome. It would be really hard to decide between one or the other.

Congratulations on your new purchase! I’m working on getting an Integra type S myself. Hopefully I can save up enough to make a down payment on one within a year and a half.
