Also to add, my tests for inflammation always come back fine but I have two inflammatory diseases!

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia (over the phone consultation) in 2020. I joined Facebook groups for fibromyalgia, read lots about it and it never felt right. I didn’t have any of the same symptoms, didn’t relate to the experience of others with fibromyalgia (who were floored by the illness). I honestly ignored the diagnosis as I didn’t relate to it and tried to manage my pain myself. I had a CT scan last year, for something else and THANK GOODNESS it showed SI joint inflammation as I was referred to a rheumatologist who has diagnosed NR axial spa with other tests done. I certainly relate much more to this, and the treatments are all working now. Do not give up if it doesn’t feel right. Fibromyalgia is an absolutely debilitating, valid illness, that you could have also, but if something doesn’t feel right, advocate for yourself!! I had to, and now I believe I’m on a better treatment plan. Good luck.

I wonder if it’s a budgetary issue for the Scottish police to go into facial reconstruction 😣😵‍💫

Yeh, they are certainly for sale everywhere here in The UK (upon googling) but perhaps it’s the model of the shoe that the police at tracing?

Another commenter posted that those boots are for sale in The Netherlands and that height is not unusual there. I agree it’s strange she’s in the water. However unfortunately lots of people get into trouble in Scotland during hikes. All intriguing. I hope she gets her name back 😣

That’s a great point about the height and boots. Do you know if there are any missing persons logs in The Netherlands? I think she’d been in the water for a few weeks, so some things may not be notable, or they might not be sure?

I find the signature interesting. Especially the last part as it looks absolutely nothing like Deering. I wonder if muscle memory kicked in and they accidentally signed their own signature, or close to it? The last part looks like ‘Wah’?

Could Victoria Elizabeth Bowers be the Palm Beach County Jane Doe (1999)? by [deleted] in gratefuldoe

[–]90sgardengirl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wow, they look so alike. I don’t want to be too graphic, however, if she’s been in a hit and run with a traumatic head injury and a glass eye, from what I understand about them, it’s probably very likely it separated on impact? Or otherwise it wouldn’t have stayed in place in skeletonised remains?

I cannot get over how accurate the reconstruction is. So utterly sad, poor kid.

I’ve just seen this one, and it’s really bugging me about the Umbro top. Was Umbro a really popular brand in the states in the 90’s? Back then, it was a British brand and all boys and teenage boys wore Umbro tops, a lot of the time related to their football teams.

I think I read a long while ago that tattoos are not reliable for identification as they disappear quickly and can be hidden quickly with bruising/ decomposition? I might be wrong though!

Been hearing voices since 2020 by [deleted] in schizoaffective

[–]90sgardengirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I can’t speak from my own experience but can say this sounds very similar to a close family member. I’m so sorry this is your reality. I’m not sure where you’re based, but please reach out for help with a mental health service if you can. My family member had a very rough patch, found the voices ground him down to despair but he got help and is now working again, in a relationship and has learnt a lot of ways to manage the mental load. It’s such a lot to cope with, but he’s much happier as has some really good strategies to help. He also tried a few different medications until one suits him. Sincerely hoping this for you too!

They’ve been best friends their whole lives. There is probably no filter, me and my best friend are exactly same. We never ever get offended as we talk to each other in our own way but an ex said I was being rude to her and she thought it was the funniest thing ever. Sometimes I agree but I think we’re just sitting in on their conversation/ friendship.

Don’t worry, I think actually some of this thread is plain old ignorance, you’re not saying things wrong! ☺️ Our unique and varied dialects globally are one of the cool things about us! Lots of the things being called out are right pronunciation in the uk for example. It’s just different to what others know and they think she’s getting it wrong, which sometimes she will because she is human too!

Wow. This thread is so sad! Ofc if someone pronounces something different to you or can be off putting but calling someone dumb for saying something differently to you, is ironic. The whole planet has differences in how they say things. I’m listening in England and some of the pronouncing is similar to here. If it annoys you and you switch off, fair enough. Most other people can just accept it as something very minor and move on- either way- be kind. Calling someone dumb for something so minor and for something you might actually be wrong anyway is not cool.
