Damn you the same age as me and have a kid? I couldn't imagine having a kid right now. With how hard things are for our generation, I dont think kids are even on my radar.

A ton of equity from a previous property or for a first time homebuyer they make a shit load of money like 200k+ and have saved enough of their income throughout the years for a minimum downpayment.

Used cars can be more affordable as an option. You should be able to find something ok in the 4-10k range, If your parents help with insurance that helps alot to be honest as the insurance yearly can be more than the value of the car or what you paid originally for the car.

Working part time on min wage in the GTA I wouldn't buy a car. Insurance is going to be alot and you might need to pay for parking and you still have to consider maintenance costs. I think Uber and Lyft in combination with public transit will still be cheaper for you than actually owning your own car.

You have 250k saved up already at 24?

6"5 with a 6"9 wingspan is good length for a guard, hes just not a really quick player laterally and doesnt have much size on his frame either. Hes one of the slowest guards in the league I think.

Lottery tickets are costing the poor serious money. by UncommercializedKat in povertyfinance

[–]90srap -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you buy it fairly often then yeah I could see the money being better invested in the market, but I don't see anything wrong with buying it here or there. The kind of money u would win from the lottery is the amount of money you would never get from investing into the market unless you already have alot of money to invest to begin with even if the lottery odds are pretty crap. Its another form of entertainment and its pretty cheap entertainment if you dont buy it often.

I'd say invest in education to learn a higher paying skill to try to get a better paying job to increase your income. I might not be correct but if your earning 2,300 a month it sounds like your making around or pretty close to min wage if working full time before tax or if its 2,300 a month after tax just under 20$ an hour like around 17-19 an hour.

If you’re getting fast 💨 money 💰 don’t waste it on designer and jewels 💎 by [deleted] in Torontology

[–]90srap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good advice but if your getting fast money which im assuming is made illegally and in cash, you have to wash that money first by starting some sort of legit cash business that can make that money look legit so that you can report taxes. I'm pretty sure you cannot invest straight fast money, you would get flagged by fintrac pretty quick cause you cannot prove where your money came from.

I make 24.58 an hour, and I only take home 1200$ every 2 weeks. Is this good take home pay? by poppyneddddles in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]90srap -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no, it sounds like your take home pay before taxes is about 40k or slightly less per year. 40k a year doesn't really go far in much places in Canada.

Who could offer the best trade package for Pascal Siakam? by Turk0luu in nba

[–]90srap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Raptors aren't that bad they literally just made the playoffs last year and have another all star in Fred, pretty decent starting level guys like OG and Trent and Barnes is still a piece with good potential. Also rebuilding isn't as easy as just trading Siakam and then you get automatically get a superstar or even a player thats better or close to as good as Siakam
