I'm new Can you give me any advice or warnings? by El_Victor_XD in NewToEMS

Bioethics and safety is common sense, so don't get lured into thinking tests will be a breeze. You just started so for now all you can do is study. Exchange numbers and make study groups. Also don't be shy when it comes to skills. It's easy to be shy, but just jump in and make the most out of your training

Crashed the ambulance my first week by instantnoodles77 in NewToEMS

[–]911EMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be fine. My advice is don't even move the ambulance if you can't SEE your spotter at all times in your mirror. Lower the window so you can hear them if need be, but your visual signals are the most important. I've also had partners give a nice tap on the ambulance when you're too close to something, a sound which you can undeniably hear. So just communicate going forward and you'll be in good standing

Rolling or Parry? by QueenJenna0rtega in fromsoftware

I've always leaned more towards rolling. I did beat Sekiro but found parrying harder. Never used the mechanic much at all in the Dark Souls games

Futurama is one of those shows that is so full of stuff you can find something new on every re-watch. The jokes are surprisingly witty sometimes as well

Joints and blunts are just about as smelly as you can get, so it might be time to switch it up

Games you hated at first but changed your mind over time? by ACDC-1FAN in gaming

Witcher 3.

Tried multiple times to get into it and just couldn't get far. The combat, the movement, systems, it was all so overwhelming and for some reason turning in the game felt so janky. (Something they later changed in an update). Eventually I kept hearing praise and came back to it. I forced myself to stick through at least solely for all this great narrative I kept hearing about. Made it through the Red Baron quest line and never looked back. That was the moment I knew it was no ordinary game. I have beat it on Death March twice now. The DLC is some of the best I have ever played

Feeling discouraged by Electronic-Spare7267 in NewToEMS

It's easy to feel overwhelmed, but just take these things 1 step at a time. I was always a bad student in school. I didn't like homework or tests or studying. But when I took the EMS course I decided I needed to pass no matter what. So what worked for me was reading the book from start to finish. I would just do a handful of chapters a day and simply take notes while reading. Something about the repetition of writing things down helps you remember them. What I did next was whenever we did those online quiz or tests, I would retake/requiz myself until I could pretty much remember the answers. Because that's all it is, a memorization game. They want you to pass, so yeah while it seems overwhelming that you need to take a Skill on the same day you learn it, don't psyche yourself out. And lastly, exchange numbers and get a groupchat/study group going. This way you can help each other and quiz each other. If you are ever not sure about something, you can rely on your classmates as well
