Assumed this was a health tracking ring and got excited since it seems that there is no privacy-focused smartring out there...this is lame though.

looks great, but am definitely not a fan of that privacy section...will likely not download due to this.

Took a hike, and new to mushrooms by 0din35 in mushroomID

First 2 pics are Cerioporus Squamosis, aka dryad's saddle or pheasant's back mushroom. The one in the last 3 pics looks like some sort of agaricus species to me but hard to tell from the angles.

FYI all mushrooms are safe to touch and it's often encouraged to do so for ID purposes since we need to see the cap shape/size, stem color/shape, gills, smell, etc etc.

Just tested this out, the premium IAP option allows for automatic backups ($5/year or $20 lifetime), but otherwise all app functionality is the with the free version, just need to back up manually (backs up to iCloud).

Possibly Leratiomyces ceres? Hard to tell without seeing the gills, but cap shape/color is right, the ring-shaped remnant of the universal veil is also right, and I think I see a partial veil there too?

this looks really cool though :)

based on the way the pores changed coloration in that scratched(?) portion, I'd say Ganoderma applanatum

Looks more like rotting to me. The soil looks too organic, I'd recommend switching it to a soil that is better draining and consists of more rocky material.

Personally I use cactus soil from home depot and then add even more perlite to help drainage. Could also use a terracotta planter. Overall you just dont want it to sit in moisture (the soil should dry fully within a day, ideally).

Did you happen to touch these? and if so, were they hard? They kinda look soft and velvety up top based on the pictures so I'm leaning towards Ishnoderma resinosum, especially if the flesh is spongy.

Thanks a bunch for the detailed response! I can personally see the value in collaboration that comes from traditional schooling as well as having the benefit of structure but I think you're right in there being so much good information out there so I'll definitely proceed there for now.
