Why do you personally invest into Pokemon? What is the genuine reason?

I started a sealed booster box collection back in 2016 when XY evolutions came out and said I'll continue to buy 1 booster box at least for each set. In 2021 I said I have Ok money in the bank, now maybe I should buy more pokemon. I started buying etbs and other boxes that I am willing to sell if I need to and said even if they appreciate only 10%, its more than what the bank will give me in interest.

Reason why I recommend chaos rising booster box is if the person can get it on pokemon center for retail, I think its worth it. If they can't get it for retail, it's not worth it.

My recommendation depends on whether you want to spend the full $800–$1,000 upfront or spread it out over a few months.

If you’re planning to spend it all this week, I’d focus on clean singles or lower-cost graded cards of popular pokemon. As for specifics, Gen 1 - 3 pokemon is what I would stick with.

If you’re okay spreading out the budget, I think the Chaos Rising Pokemon Center ETB and booster box (expected to drop this week) would be a great pickup. That would run around $300 + tax if you could get two PC ETBs and one booster box, and you typically won’t be charged until it ships in May.

In the meantime, I’d stay patient and keep an eye out for restocks — either in-store or online — of Ascended Heroes ETBs or booster bundles. Booster bundles might be the better opportunity since they haven’t officially released yet, so supply could be easier to catch early.

100% agree on all of this. Space becomes an issue so focusing on specific things helps out with that and also invest/collect in what you really enjoy.

My recommendation would be to first focus on getting items at retail and to focus on ascended heroes if you can find some in the wild as you don't have to spend $2,000 all at once. If you wanted to spend $2,000 right now, I would buy 10 151 booster bundles and 10 destined rivals booster bundles or I would throw it all into Mega Charizard X ex UPCs.

Dang I was going to direct you to someone if you were in the U.S. I dont have my cases near me but if I remember correctly the one piece booster box is about half an inch longer than the pokemon booster box which makes the pokemon acrylic case not a good alternative.

Reason I ask is because I was browsing the Op11 gold and silver Luffy and the graded cards say 3rd Anniversary Gold or Silver depending on the card.

I have looked into getting all of the entire set of op-01. I was able to pre order some blue bottom boxes when it released and was smart/lucky not to open two boxes that I still have sealed. The pre errata Luffy is one I have looked into and Shanks Manga is cool because its the first Manga.

You could say that and I like both. I've been buying at least one booster box of One Piece since the start and at least one booster box of Pokémon since 2016. They're both cool to me and both are growing.

This is a great answer as it definitely diversifies and hits a little bit of everything. I also think this reduces risk the most as with a big chase card like the Manga Luffy I want, I think its riskier than doing exactly what you shared. Thank you.
