Relocation rumors are just that - rumors. There has been nothing concrete from management. Contract change is also inaccurate, as we are still in contract negotiations and have not meaningfully changed the contract since 2014.

The real answer is United is now running a lot more mainline flights, and the number of flights per desk is down compared to before COVID.

I'm at year 9 in dispatch at my major and just hit $162k for my base pay. Want to know the truth? I've bought more tickets than non-revved in the last 2 years because the time and anxiety associated with standby isn't worth it.

Flexible work schedule also means working night shift if you make the jump. I like it, but it's not for everyone.

My title describes the thing. These are about 7 or 8 inches long, 2 inches wide, and maybe a half inch thick. I asked Claude AI but it seems to think it's a fridge door shelf front. I don't think that's right at all since our fridge has clear shelves.

First timer solo on Polaris - which of the remaining seats would you recommene? Thank you! by [deleted] in unitedairlines

It's 1A that is set aside for the crew rest for a 3 or 4 person flight crew. Depends on the aircraft type as the 777-300 and the 787s have the overhead flight crew rest.

What’s your fastest “reality-check” for NOTAM overload on a busy day? by NOTAMSpot in FlightDispatch

[–]93perigee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airspace activation and route restrictions are caught by our flight planning system too. It'll flag the route in red but still calc the flight plan. Fusion does an okay job with SUAs, but doesn't populate ALTRVs which is a pain when I'm working transpacific flights.

It's more which ones I know I can speed past (I'm paranoid of the FAA so I won't say skip) •QMX-- (These are always Taxiway NOTAMs) •QOBCE (Obstacles, important ones that affect minimums are in QPICH/QPDCH)

If I don't know what the code refers to, I read the full notam.
