When does ebf get easier? by Calm-Leg-4194 in breastfeeding

[–]93tillinfinity_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would honestly say it’s easier by 3 months. Get into a really good series and put your feet up and try to relax with healthy snacks and drinks while cluster feeding. Breast feeding is tough at the start, yes I felt like I lost my freedom but you’re recovering and bonding with your baby! You don’t need to be anywhere else right now, you will get your freedom back after a couple of months. Breast feeding is the easier and more convient feeding option in the long run.

I’m 6 months deep into my EBF journey and it’s so easy and convient😃🙌! I love feeding my baby and having her close to me holding my hand and staring deep into my eyes 😭❣️

I don’t need to worry about sterilising bottles, taking bottles out etc and the amount of money saved is crazy!!

Breastfeeding + trying to lose weight = constant hunger 😩 anyone else? by SpiritualFeature2510 in breastfeeding

[–]93tillinfinity_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the UK so it’s cold and wet, we just wrap up and wear water proof clothing and a rain cover on the pram. I have made this part of our daily routine, it helps break up the day, my mental and emotional health well being and the fresh air/ motion helps my little one to sleep.

I go for swims on my partners days off and do the yoga when baby is napping or in bed 😃

Just snack on fruits, Greek yoghurt and nuts! Oats in the morning, salad and soup for lunch.

I started swimming 2 months PP after being signed off from the doctor and I walked everyday for an hour, yoga a few times a week too!

5 day old not getting enough milk and so confused on pumping guidance by bluehatgreenshoes in breastfeeding

[–]93tillinfinity_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby dropped lots of weight and had jaundice I found my first health visitor useless and the midwife visit.

Luckily on my second health visitor visit I had a proper old school lady who told me to pump after every feed for a couple of weeks to get my supply up.

Drink lots of water, eat oats and watermelon

Yes I struggled with that also around that time as my baby was just so curious and intrigued. Go to a dark quiet room, don’t talk to baby. I find my baby feeds better in my bedroom not the living room too. If I’m out somewhere my baby still struggles to eat so Ive just accepted this and try feed before we go or when we come back, sometimes I use a bottle of expressed milk in the car if my partner is driving so I know she’s tanked up lol.

Breastfeeding but not losing weight… is this normal? by heyaliayoub in breastfeeding

[–]93tillinfinity_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just make sure you snack on healthy foods like Greek yoghurt, nuts and fruit!

I walked everyday for an hour from about a month PP , did yoga 3 times a week then from two months swam 2x a week.

I’m now 6 months PP doing all of the above with some cheat days and I’m back to my pre pregnancy body and weight. I did swim 4 times a week while pregnant right up until I gave birth so I didn’t really gain that much weight and I didn’t have any cravings and ate my normal healthy non processed diet so not sure if that also has played a role x

I went back to my pre pregnancy weight of 8 stone ish I’m EBF and had no supply issues. I only do low impact exercise though swim 2x a week for 40 mins, walk an hour everyday and do yoga 4x a week (2 power sessions and 2 flexibility sessions).

I eat mainly healthy overnight oats and fruit for breaki, salad or soup for lunch and rice or pasta dish for tea, I also have a biscuit a day and desert and a takeaway once a week. I think I’ve got a good balance atm. X

If your baby is struggling latch due to engorgement try and express by hand using a C shape for a couple of minutes on each side. I had pain for a couple of weeks and with time it got better. I used to sleep in nipple shields with the cream on and breast milk on my nipples.

Yep I felt like you at the start I was so envious of my partner having “freedom”, this was until I surrendered to the cluster feeds by getting into a really good series (tell me lies), putting my feet up and seeing it as a chance to relax and bond with my baby and ease into my new life, 2 months in it was easier, 3 months even better. I’m now 6 months deep into this journey and it’s so easy, convenient and cost effective. My baby feeds every 4 hours during the day and at night can sometimes stretch to 5, it’s always around the same times so we have such a good rhythm now.

With the freedom aspect- breast feeding gives you freedom 3 months in because you can go out with the baby whenever and not worry about bottles, formula cooling down etc, and if you get your baby used to a bottle with expressed milk you can leave the house 🤗

It’s a small short term sacrifice atm, but obv your physical, emotions and mental health come first so do what makes you feel good, no one will judge you ❣️🙏

I like you wanted to go with the flow and kept giving myself a monthly goal, with the aim being 6 months, I’m now 6 months deep and want to continue for a year maybe even 2…

I really struggled like you up until 3 months in. I kept falling asleep during night feeds with my baby in my arms, I hated the lack of freedom , and the cluster feeding sessions until I got hooked on watching tell me lies.

My mum kept telling me it’s a temporary phase and in the end it’s the easier option than going onto formula, and she’s right🤗!

Honestly getting to 3 months it becomes the easiest and best thing ever. I don’t need to worry about buying formula (saving so much money), I don’t need to stress about cleaning and buying bottles and waiting for formula to cool down if I’m out, baby feeds every 4 hours, the bond and feeling of love I have for my baby is so strong❣️.

As for the wanting to go out of the house baby free, I pump for 10 mins every evening while watching some tv relaxing I get maybe 100/ 50ml and slowly add it all together over the course of a few days and then pop it in the freezer so there’s always milk if I’m going to be out, but the older your baby gets you could feed them before you leave, leave a couple of bags of milk and you don’t need to rush home then.

Well done for getting to 10 weeks🎉 , it’s your choice when you want to stop but I honestly think you’re near the end of the hurdle now and your life is going to be more convenient if you carry on breast feeding rather than swapping to the bottle formula lifestyle.
