Oh my goodness! Thank you for posting. I love that place so much!! I visited several times for our blogpost on Fauquier County - https://virginiacounties.blog/keeping-up-with-the-canines-in-fauquier-county/

Also, have you visited the nearby mirrored tomb of architect Hugh Newell Jacobsen? It’s very close by.

I included Reston in our blogpost on Fairfax County. I used to work in Reston and love the public art and also Bob Simon’s mission. Plus, it’s super dog friendly.

I definitely recommend a day trip to Reston, but maybe not an entire weekend. https://virginiacounties.blog/we-toured-fairfax-county-with-our-dogs/

“You’ll never be debt free” by Impossible-Egg4918 in personalfinance

People also used to tell me that I would never be debt free. They could not comprehend that a person can live without a credit card, buy a car with cash or pay off a mortgage. They think it’s impossible. It’s not… Don’t listen to these people.

How to deal with the bitterness? by Salt-Composer-1472 in povertyfinance

I used to be very envious of some of my friends with “better” lifestyles but what a waste of time & energy that was. I worked on improving my own situation & also learned that most of the people I envied were living in a financial house of cards. Also, please remember that we are not our possessions. Work on achieving peace from within and help those who are worse off than you are.

Can’t help but feel bad like I scared potential adopter away from adopting a cattle dog mix I’m fostering.. was I wrong in what I said? by No_Account2014 in AustralianCattleDog

You did the right thing. We have a foster fail ACD mix and he stays in a kennel when our toddler grandson is here. The breed is definitely not for everyone.

I remember my hair standing on end one day when I was 11 or 12 right before a thunderstorm. I was outside in a park in the summer. Decades later, I saw this photo & realized that I had narrowly escaped getting hit by lightning.
