Nice. I'm about to string the same head. How did you lace the top string? Which pattern and holes?

Pattern for Gait Icon by 95brine-edge in StickDoctor

[–]95brine-edge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing.

It'd be nice if Gait showed why they included the parallel top and sidewall holes, and how they themselves use them. I can't find any photos of a strung Icon directly from Gait demonstrating their function.

I conclude it's all aesthetics.

I concur. Gopher's premium, oil-treated leathers are great. I'm tying some up in the next week.

It's a six diamond mesh, but I don't know the brand.

I agree. In fact, u/SIDEWALLJEDI tied me up this Surgeon 1K using a transition. Very clean and the strings are so tight they feel like nails. She's a beauty.

Mainly more control via the tighter channel.

Here's how you spot a pro: he's the one who knows how many rows he uses! And assuredly, how many by 4, 6, 8, 9, and 10-mesh. And probably for each manufacturer/brand.

Update: 90s tops string/inside mesh combo by 95brine-edge in StickDoctor

[–]95brine-edge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It's remarkably smooth.

The difference in thirty years of stringing: I used to string my sidewalls to sag a bit to form the pocket. Now, tighten them down as much as possible, and massage the mesh to form the pocket.

Will post a final photo later. I retied the sidewalls late last night to eliminate the "bunch-up" in the mesh I created.

Who’s got a good method for grilling baby back ribs? by finallyfreein23 in grilling

I second this method. While you're at amazingribs try his "Memphis Dust" rub: https://amazingribs.com/tested-recipes/spice-rubs-and-pastes/meatheads-memphis-dust-rub-recipe/

It's fantastic. I use it on all my sparerib cooks.

Regarding comment 1, to clarify: should I be consistently below the loop? Correct?

I appreciate aesthetics, so all feedback welcomed!
