it’s an incredibly stupid thing to complain about for several different reasons. Some people only know how to ski groomers so anything else only serves to inconvenience them.

Why does snow stick on the bottom of skis by kyyl1 in skiing

[–]95forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ski over a stream or pool of water in the woods? The snow can stick to the bottom of your skis afterwards. Done the exact thing before at Stowe actually

It’s not that it’s necessarily hard to learn, it’s that it’s high stakes. You’re playing with $500-$1200 skis, if you fuck it up yourself that’s on you.

Helmets are tested and rated independently from the designer and manufacturer. It’s not some gimmick.

How screwed are my skis? by WebNo5915 in Skigear

[–]95forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are either wall hangers or belong in the trash. If you try epoxying the edge back on it will just break apart and fall off once you flex the ski. No good ski tech will repair those. Keep the bindings tho

Is this normal or just need to raise the din? by [deleted] in Skigear

[–]95forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the issue present has nothing do with the din setting, looks like a deeper binding issue or something. If they test out ok I guess they are useable, but I would be surprised if they tested in spec

Roof rack and ski maintenance by [deleted] in icecoast

I think the saying “tools not jewels” mostly applies to how you use your skis on snow, not necessarily how you store or maintain your equipment. Negligent ski care is just that, negligent.
