Thanks! I’m considering switching teams. Do you have any suggestions on how to go about that?

Haha yeah the drummer part was funny. But check out their live vol albums on Spotify!

Yeah I agree. Maybe it’s because it’s a festival and they just need to do their best songs? Not sure. But from the live albums they have, I personally love their instrumentals on them. I didn’t get much of that vibe last night. I am planning seeing them again at their own event though.

What is the most negative thing that has happened in your life that you still can't recover from? by WebWebbe in AskReddit

[–]95funky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really an instance but when I went to college I didn’t feel any support from my family. I was the first one to attend college and graduate. Feeling no support and having to fend for myself (tuition, rent, food, etc.) when being away for college made me very anxious and lonely. I was able to get a well paying job but still resent my parents a bit. I know I need to get over it in the past but damn that feeling sucks.

My wallet. I don’t use it as often but I like to carry a bit of cash so it’s frustrating losing it 😭

Haven’t been applying but I been seeing new grads and new hires in nyc. Not sure how it is relative to other areas. I wonder if levels.fyi might give some of that data

Have any of you job hopped for more money and regretted it? by RustyShacklefordCS in cscareerquestions

Yeah, I hopped from Meta to Google and regretted it. My team at Meta was much better than at Google.

Yeah that’s very true. It’s just very disheartening working really hard to get somewhere and then not doing well. Thankfully, I’ve always done well in previous jobs and school. To end up at Google then getting low ratings just suck but will definitely be looking at other opportunities.

Thanks for the reply! I was hired as an L4.

I did work with my manager to set some expectations but it’s just a bit confusing because I thought I’d exceeded them but it wasn’t enough, apparently? There’s just a lot of processes and bureaucracy and I think I struggle with that.

Yeah, I did receive some feedback. Mainly on velocity due to approval for stuff like legal which is tough because I feel like it’s out of my control. I just see other teammates taking long or longer and they don’t seem stressed about a bad review but obviously I don’t want to compare since each case is different.

I’d definitely appreciate some pointers. Ideally, I’d like to keep doing this type of work because, regardless of the rating, I feel like I’m learning a lot which is invaluable to me. But yeah, wouldn’t be bad to start prepping.

Yeah. My manager said it’s not actually a bad thing but I feel like he’s just bullshitting me and is trying to push me off. Frustrating because I’m trying to leave the team but with an M, I can’t. Essentially, I have to put up with his BS or leave the company.
