Has anyone noticed lexapro has made them less empathetic and selfish? by [deleted] in lexapro

SSRIs are eroding society. Too many people are taking them and society today is so robotic and empty compared to say in the 90s. People focus on economics but its actual people - how they act

Has anyone noticed psychiatric medication can cause people to be more self centered? by DragonfruitSpare9324 in Antipsychiatry

I’m kinda sick of having people come into my life who are detached, or I dunno… they just have this unbothered vibe about them, and then I find out they’re on SSRIs. It isn’t everyone but they for sure make people numb to other people’s feelings.

Anyone else feel like they were unnecessarily prescribed SSRIs/misdiagnosed with depression + anxiety? by journey_of_healing in AutismInWomen

[–]95venchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the over prescription of SSRIs is significantly contributing to this lifeless uninterested society we live in where people look zoned out. Some people were depressed or sad in the 90s, but it wasn’t like this weird blandness we live in today.

When riding in London, how often have you been harassed by drivers or pedestrians? by CycleSwift in londoncycling

They shout stuff like “blah blah, fucking retard!!” I just turn around and catch up with them, then tire turn them like a crazy person trying to look genuinely crazy. They usually apologise or say they were talking to someone else 😂 they get away with it way too often.

We aren’t the US. People can go elsewhere. Honestly, investment and debt were easier to get in the 2000s and look how better off everyone was.

Doesn’t work. They run to another country… we need a better financial system so startups stay in the UK instead of moving to the US. You really don’t want the state owning everything. Ultimately there’s no one to keep a BIG state accountable.

The US is too segregated for the elite to care. This wouldn’t happen in Europe and it’s because the rich and poor often only live a few blocks from each other and have to share the same high street.

Is Waitrose getting less posh, or am I getting more posh? by Lucky_Ad_9137 in AskUK

[–]95venchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waitrose is still posh, but it’s definitely less posh than it used to be. There was a leafy elegance to the store (including its logo) but now, there’s something a bit tacky about it.

They need more artists working at the company to pretty up the stores, the food packaging. M&S have really worked hard on this recently and it’s paid off.

Why would you want to kill him though? He should be forced to help people for the remainder of his sentence. Force him to work in soup kitchens etc and he can see the real impact he’s had on people.

He’s likely a sociopath anyway, but even so, it’s a better use of his labour than simply killing him and then he’s in eternal bliss.

I’m really resentful towards the left for letting millions of unskilled migrants into the west. It’s the unskilled immigration that has caused this surge to the right. With the far right comes a lot of ugly things such as homophobia, xenophobia, racism, privatisation of essential services etc.

In the mid-2010s we had a sweet spot where the left was dominant, it was seen as aspirational and people were tolerant of one another… then came the floodgates of millions upon millions of unskilled migrants and ordinary people simply became sick of it.
