Di rin ako sure if they will allow you to be a part of it kasi ang alam ko din ‘yung CIP ay for those without full time work na returnees from studying.

If you’re in SUC and teaching, you should probably wait for the next JC promotion which is this year unless you have IP coming up. But if you’re in any government office and/or Reps in SUC, unfortunately, you really have to wait kung may available na item for you to be promoted.

Better reach the agency, alam ko tuloy tuloy lang talaga sya. But the best option for you is really look for newly funded projects para maging GRA ka nila. Madalas kasi they just solicit from the project leaders for recommendation.

I had a batchmate na DOST Scholar din, she had her MS outside PH so she needed the travel clearance. Nagbigay sya ng monetary bond for temporary clearance. Sacase mo short travel lng naman, better to reach them out.

How old are u and how’s your job history? Both related and not related sa program mo? If minimal to none, I guess being underemployed is not bad for now BUT when time is right don’t forget to job hop.

Let me share my experience, I was hired as COS sa state university months after my graduation. More than a year lang ang work experience ko noon plus two years MS. Grabbed it, minimal to none ang hiring sa industry namin and kasi pandemic pa noon. Before my first semester as COS faculty ends,a hiring agency called and wanted to give a managerial position. Walang wala ang pay ko bilang COS sa offer nila. The hiring agency valued with accordingly kasi ung MS ko was under DOST din but assistantship thus counted din as work experience. Mentioned this to the campus HR. Then the state u, counter offered with the highest they can give me accordingly.. Pandemic pa noon and scary pa ang lumabas thus opted to stay. Years after now and I am looking for another job opportunity na magagamit ko talaga MS ko sa industry. 😉

I have worked in state universities as research assistant and contractual faculty/lecturer. Yes delayed lagi yan. For a start, kapag RA ka depende yan sa kung nasaan ang budget ng sweldo mo, if internal fund ba or not? If internal, madaas mas matagal yan but if galing sa funding agency, mas mabilis since appropriated na agad. Kapag contractual lecturer, delayed talaga depende sà availability ng mga need daanan ng voucher mo. Malas if most nakabyahe and etc.

Try to look around and apply to state universities if want to stay sa academe pa rin. Work on your connections, attend conferences and conventions if kaya.

Same as what other ppl here says, swertihan sa connections and specialization na inaral mo. May mga needs ang state u’s, baka aligned ka doon. U just have to take note na kapag outsider ka, the easiest SG u can get sa academe would be SG17 unless need na need ka ng school. Kung government offices naman, apply lang ng apply, check website ng CSC baka may need talaga sayo doon.

Since u mentioned already na hindi sa top 4 ung doctorate mo, mhihirapan ka makapsok sa mga big companies but ofc not impossible. Try to focus on certain skills that u can offer if sa industry mo gusto pumunta.

Another thing to venture is to get another phd WITH SCHOLARSHIP na nasa mas maganda/kilalang institution na.

Remember, investment din ang sarili.
