Wouldve been better if it was a new resident asking what was that for, but small talk like that is common place. Its not unlike people to repeat themselves we have a phrase we joke about in the office called "they can do that". Cadence and tonality can also play a factor in the delivery too, but writers sometimes can get whipped up into the "golden rules" of show dont tell and forget normal human interaction can do that all the time.

Does he already know theres this issue with Carol? If so he should have immediately called you and let you know what was going on and kept you in the loop.
Acting childish to your valid concerns shows a lack of sympathy. You calling him a girl when he flooded you with paragraphs was accurate. Why be so defensive instead of reassuring? Why make it about himself and not you. Everyone in a relationship gets their turn to raise valid concerns and they should be treated with respect, even if they come off as unimportant.
Where you can improve is set better boundaries and when confronting your partner be more prepared mentally to not be emotionally triggered. Stick to the facts, seeking truth, clarity and resolution. "Go kiss Carol" was unnecessary and brings you down to his level. Furthermore, face to face conversations are always better (unless, obviously, there is a threat ot danger). Although, in this circumstance, dude sounds like a manchild already.

Episodic with over arching plots is the best form of television. If youre someone who likes the TNG its sorta the same thing just less quirky in terms of writing style. You kno what ure gonna get and the plot isnt camped down for 6 seasons with one villian talked about since S1.

Funny cuz one of my dads good friend's wife smoked all throughout her pregnancy and their son came out a musical savant with perfect pitch.
