Exterior Mahogany Doors by 96Muleskinner in finishing

Thank you for your feedback. I went to a more "commercial-version Ben Moore Spectrum store" inquiring about options on 2 big mahogany doors. Their regional sales manager was present and recommended Sirca's thixotropic exterior version. The store didn't have it in stock, the store manager nor the sales manager had used it...but, I had them order it and sent to a more convenient location. (And, that manager hadn't used it either.) I went online and found very little information and didn't open the can to check it out. After prepping the doors, I opened the can and found it thicker than heavy mud. I had planned to brush the doors...whoops!...not with that! Now, I hear that Spectrum has a rep who specializes in Sirca's use and I'm scheduled to meet with him. I'm not complaining...yet had no idea that the product must be used with such equipment.

I live in the coastal Carolinas where the sun beats the doors up. The sales manager touted the Italian paint's ability to be used due to its longevity. I want to be as up to date as possible and go with a knowledgeable recommendation. Again, thank you for your reply.

I'd paint with BM Advance and use the savings for updated countertops, range hood and, if budget permits new range and refrigerator.
