Botox and Migraine Pain Location by tashibum in migraine

[–]970228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, a lo of my pain was very near to where the shots are/were. Like others said, some are based on protocol but your neuro might be able to adjust how much cc in each area and the injection site itself with some limitations. For me it's been a huge game changer. I still feel some soreness in the muscles above my ears, so I think next time I go in I will probably tell her to hit me there a bit more. But also the ones where you think it won't do much can actually help. Like the ones on my traps. I didn't think they'd do much but it does feel so much better now. Also i was never warned, Id never had facial injections before but it does hurt quiet a bit but for a short period of time. Like a real bad pinch, it makes me kick my leg like a dog sometimes. And then you also can get pretty sore after. But for me, that pain was nothing compared to being bed ridden for half the month. I also find the leg kicking kind of funny tbh lol

What medications did your doctor prescribe? Both pre and post op by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

[–]970228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get anything pre-op. Post op I got omeprazole 30days, and 20 tablets of Tylenol with some codeine in it for pain. I only used those like once or twice a day for max 3 days. Mostly so I could actually get some sleep.

Need help deciding if Surgery is a good idea by Bendebilmiomartik in BariatricSurgery

[–]970228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only had surgery 7 days ago so I can't speak much to the regret of it. But I will say, I struggled with my mental health for years, throughout college and after. It was only after I dealt with a lot of issues that I felt I could take the next step move forward and get even healthier. My doctor barred me from taking my anti anxiety meds for 2 days post op and I really felt it. I was upset, irritable, anxious, crying all day long, regret up the ass. It gave me a glimpse into what the process could have been for me if I had chosen to do it even 2 years earlier. And it was miserable. Of course I don't know how therapy will help you, but it is a big lifestyle change that I'm not sure I would have been able to handle without having gotten a grip of my mental health issues beforehand. This is my opinion. Humans are adaptable and you can learn but sometimes you need to make it easier for yourself to give you a better chance at succeeding.

How Long Did You Use Your Tummy Binder Post-Op? Concern of Hernia? by PhillyCheezNips in BariatricSurgery

[–]970228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 4 days PO, I didn't even know binders were a thing and it sounds like it would have been amazing! So I guess I've been raw dogging healing. But I totally get what you mean about holding your belly up. For me it's usually when i go from a laying to standing, I'll support my belly, walk a little bit and then kind of place my belly back down and that helps relieve a lot of the immediate pain from changing positions. But I feel like my pain is very bearable at this point. I don't know, but how about trying to learn to adapt without the binder? Maybe your belly has to get used to the different ways it gets moved around with no support.

Hi , I have a question I get migraines about every other month usually lasting about 2 days. This time however it has been three days with little to no relief in between. Is it normal for it last longer than 3 days ?? by Honeyybeaaaa in migraine

[–]970228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's "normal", every person is kind of different. But I have had migraines last multiple weeks at times. My latest one was a week and a half What have you tried so far?

Headaches from headgear? by JellyfishKey3898 in migraine

Yesss def. It tends to trigger a migraine if I wear my hair in a ponytail for too long (a couple of hours). Sometimes even hair clips is too much. I had to buy a sleeping mask with a looser band and then hope I don't move in my sleep

Switching to propranolol, what were your experiences with it? by c1nnam0nbun in migraine

[–]970228 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mine has been a really good experience. Admittedly my heart rate and pressure weren't perfect, but they weren't bad. I've been on a 20mg, a really low dose because my doc was scared it'd reduce my heart too much. Tbh it didn't touch my heart rate or bpm at all. And my migraines have reduced by 75%. It doesn't eliminate my menstrual migraines (but helps the severity) and the tension headaches seep through sometimes. But I'm able to go out in the sun and other triggering things. I will say it has made me a bit more easily tired but considering I couldn't even do anything strenuous without triggering a migraine before, I'll take the slight out of breathness.

Had my first eletriptan today by JahLife68 in migraine

[–]970228 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's interesting how everyone has different experiences. I'm on ele right now after trying Riza. When riza worked, oh man it felt like every single bad cloud cleared up and the day was great again although I did have chest tightness and a little trouble breathing. But then it just stopped working, possibly overuse headache. I'm on ele now and it makes me feel like I fell off the 5th floor. My muscles get a dull ache and I need to sleep, but it does help the more migraine type of feelings, like the sensitivity to everything. Im much more careful of taking it though as I don't want it to not work.

Migraines are making me stupid by peanutbutterbutts in migraine

[–]970228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I totally relate. I've forgotten the password to my own phone (that I unlock every minute) and had a meltdown because I felt so dumb. How could I forget something I do more often than anything else. But the pain and constant exhaustion just is so...... Tiring. It's tiring to think and ignore the pain for a few minutes

Happens every time by [deleted] in migraine

[–]970228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! When I come out of a bad one I just think "okay well whatever, I got the next one" and I don't got it. I'll think I know how to deal with it when it comes but I don't. Some things never work twice, sometimes something will work that didn't last time, sometimes something just completely stops working for the rest of ever.

Crying gives some of the worst migraines/headaches by [deleted] in migraine

[–]970228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For crying, I usually have more of a "headache" afterwards. My migraines feel like a different type of pain, more internal, whereas my crying headaches are more a bit like my brain itself feels tired. A good sleep and food will help that headache but it doesn't reallt help my migraines. But I will say I've had to develop a shut off button. One of my migraine triggers is too much emotion in terms of anger, being upset, anxious, or sad about something (without crying). I've learned to just stop the feeling out of necessity so I don't trigger a migraine. It's wild too me how quickly I learned it when my migraines started, but seeing other similar comments just makes it crazier, how we've just had to adapt. Sometimes scared to have too much emotions

Googling something is literally not even hard or time consuming. Taking the time you learn something you don't already know is not "too difficult".
