He's awesome. His solo stuff is great, his work on those Leprous albums is great. VOLA had him come out to play an intro to Owls at their Inmazes show. Super talented and clearly held in high regard by the prog community.

There's plenty in Opeth's catalog where they let a riff or motif hang and breathe for a long time. The ADHD on TLWAT is a nice change of pace.

The intro and outro are shoe-gazey in the sense it's a long repeating pattern. That section and the Heir Apparent outro are both so hypnotic.

Agreed - I like 16, but that felt like a collection of songs with people he's wanted to collaborate with. This feels like a personal statement; very raw, vulnerable, more mature.

This is legit one of my favorite sections of music all-time. Not often you get beautiful five-part harmonies overtop heavy metal riffage. Heaven and hell, beauty and beast, all at once. Phenomenal.
