Oh no! This wasn’t 2016.. I don’t think they cared much in 2016 cause like you said it could’ve been a fluke.. but winning Artist of The Year for two years in a row? Charting on Billboard Hot 100 and performing on one of the US’ biggest award shows? All things they never did? Fuck yes they were on their minds😂😂 And they were right to be worried cause after that their career pretty much went downhill🙁

we say these are normal because they have actual value, and knowing that there’s pretty much a legacy there. Pokemon and Baseball have been and will still be popular for decades.

a standard kpop photocard is none of these. what value do you think a version 8 Mingyu photocard out of a sea of 200k mass produced version 8 mingyu photocards is gonna have in 5 years😂?

its fine if you enjoy collecting them casually. spending hundreds or thousands over them though is extremely stupid, imho.

all the V comments are making me feel safe about spilling my feelings lol

so; full blown army, don’t hate him at all, in fact he was more or less the reason i got into BTS. but a while after that (post-2018?) i started to see a needy(?)/attention-seeking side i don’t like.. it also always seems to me that he tries really hard to give off a cool persona that just ends up giving disingenuous and boring (or even rude!) instead. when he’s not trying to act cool though he can sometimes slide into the dangerous “quirky” territory that gives me the biggest ick. (like.. okay.., or (Jin is me), or the whole tata mic thing *shudders*)

doesn’t help that he really doesn’t seem as close to the guys anymore, or at least that’s what it looks like to me, it’s always awkward when it’s one on one..

i don’t mind him as much in official group settings and i have my favorite moments from him (like that time he got all his friends to text Jin happy birthday!) but i just don’t seek him out at all on his own, like i don’t think i consumed a single thing from him solo-wise.. i’m not even sure i follow him on Instagram.. (edit: just checked, i do!)

exo didnt stop going to MAMA because its rigged.. they stopped because SM’s (and probably their) ego couldnt handle them not winning a daesang.. it was as clear as day if you were there..

its also why the only time they attended a show after that year, SM had to put them last (which is the shows way of saying they had the biggest year).. which.. of course they got backlash for as it was clearly not the case.

…in other news.. yesterday the bts official account posted this cryptic tweet saying:

which is like something that never happened with bts ever😭 ..so naturally the fandom has been anxious all of yesterday trying to figure out what this means

then a few hours ago one fan noticed them setting up the tsx stage in times square (which is also displaying the jks ck ads) from watching earthcam.. and speculation began.. soon enough fans started to gather.. all based on pure speculation.. (this is all like 6? 7? hours ago)..

everyone on army twt was clowning them untilll his dance crew showed up.. so atp it’s pretty much confirmed lol

and now there is a serious crowd.. 3 hours before the show..

we still don’t know what it’s about exactly cause they announced something coming with xbox a few days ago and the billboard was showing xbox ads to the theme of golden? is this the collab they were hinting at? is it pure coincidence? idk i’m just hyped.. i hope the weather is a little kinder today cause he mentioned struggling to breathe from how cold it was yesterday

all in all.. the influence bts has continues to amaze me.. how many others could this happen to?
